On twitter idk how this author got into my feed but they’re saying they are trying to end the webtoon they make because ppl kept shipping their characters and it makes them uncomfortable because they don’t want their characters to be shipped cause they view it as friendship or something and there’s no romance I don’t read their work but this actually got me thinking some ppl can’t respect authors (if its an unproblematic author) like in the end of the day if the author says their characters is this and that i think we should just accept it cause its their character why cant u follow it and is it hard not to ship ppl everytime u read something the fact that they were genuinely distressed and didn’t like what they created no more l feel sad omg cause if i make an oc saying A and u ppl kept saying B I’ll not want to show u my story too
ps i just found out that if u hv a webtoon once ur story done it becomes webtoons like u dont hv control of what ur story anymore omg
it's pretty much an unspoken rule in any fandom that canon and fanon are seperated from each other and the fans are allowed to have headcanons & interpret the work however they want as long as they don't claim that it's canon. if people shipping two characters from your webtoon makes you wanna stop making it completely you probably shouldn't be an ...... 1 reply
I know which author you're talking about, they were just tired of all the people harassing them into making that one ship canon so I still respect them, it really was the best option to simply wrap it up.

what happened with hanza was not fair at all she even announced that the two characters were siblings in fact but some people started getting more and more angry at her. She was not able to end the webtoon so she put it on an indefinite hiatus but as a fan of that webtoon who’s been following it since years it’s really sad this has happened due...... reply
Yea it’s true that it’s annoying and sad for the author but you can’t control what people think of your story, they’re simply the readers and you are making a story for the readers. So it’s inevitable that things like that will happen reply

I’ve seen people ship characters who’ve never been on screen together just because their color schemes match… sorry but I don’t think it’s something you can just ask people not to do. Also… out of all the places you could come to raise that issue, mangago is probably not the most effective one to do so. reply
