back in middle school everyone was discovering it was okay to be gay via the internet (small town) and we all started reading hetalia because everyone thought of it has The Manga for the gay crowd then. Me being me, a gay man, clearly implied romance was not enough. Of course I read fanfiction and the like for hours but i wanted real animated romance. My first yaoi anime was junjou romantica and it was my first yaoi manga. Clearly it's not a good rep for gay people and lead me to believe a lot of wrong things but hey, it was all we had at the time. I've been a yaoi and bl addict ever since!
I was watching Youtuber Akidearest talking about her opinion on Ten Count. She described it as "innocent and not smutty" so I decided to read it only for that reason and I kind of DO and DON'T regret it at the same time.
My first yaoi anime were Super Lovers and Junjou Romantica and I didn't like them as much as Yuri!!! On Ice tbh
