No Best friend
I had two best friends in elementary school, one of them kinda just drifted away from me in middle school, I think she thought I was a frivolous kid since I asked her a question that wasn't about studying, she just told me that we need to focus on out work and snubbed me, i think odd reconnecting with her during our time in middle school but it seemed like she just didn't want to be my friend anymore. My other from elementary school recconnected in middle school as well, and we bonded again, but she became excessively clingy and a little controlling then I went to another school and we never talked again, I don't have a best friend or even consistent friends, not that I mind, but sometimes I feel like I have to have one, i was just wondering if there are any other people without best friends.
me, it was kind of like that thing where i considered her my best friend but she didn't consider me, in fact she also had her own best friend (this time mutual). i just kinda gave up and now just a friend lol. reply
I have like 5 close friends and one friend in particularly i talk to the most but I wouldn't say I have a best friend. I've been told I'm kind of emotionally distant and closed off so maybe that's why I don't have a best friend. I've tried working on that but I feel like I would just come across as a burden. I've called people my bestfriend in the past, but we weren't really. We never talked about anything real or like opened up and as soon as we stopped having reasons to see each other we just stopped talking. I like to be alone, I do. But I wish I had a best friend who I could hangout with and talk to when I don't want to be alone. Idk, a bestfriend ...... reply

Tbh when I was in middle school I also felt like that. But when high school came around it got a lot better, and in uni it got a loott better. Just keep trying to make friends, it wont happen suddenly but eventually you'll meet the people you click with! Don't beat yourself up about it too much :)
