I enjoyed the story, but the sad fact is that people like her parents and ex-fiancé aren’t all that rare. There are plenty of people out there who are so supremely selfish that they would sacrifice and manipulate someone who is already a victim for their own pleasure or advancement. How different is it from con artists who typically target those least able to afford being cheated. As one author (I forget whom) put it, “These are the kind of people that hell was created for.” On a side note: Why are these high-powered executives always demanding nun-like professional conduct from their secretaries, but within minutes (it seems like) these ultra-professionals are straining at the bit to get into said secretary's pants. Could this be, gasp, the dreaded Double Standard?

I enjoyed it. ML started out pretty overbearing, but he mellowed and began to respect her values more. He ended up as a really decent character. I felt that his transformation was believable and not the Josef Stalin into Mother Theresa trope Harlequin authors are so fond of. Well done, Carole and Kanoko!

Really enjoyed it. Good story and ML wasn’t a cad or some other form of scumbag. Love Marito Ai’s artwork as well.

Really nice. With one exception, all the characters were good people and fun to read about. A good read.

Well. He was certainly the dumbest thing that has come down the pike in a long time. Maybe his family should have tried beating sense into him. If he was accidentally brain damaged, no one would ever notice the difference. Reading about him, the series should be about "The Well Known Bozo Family."

Thank you Ms Lennox. I enjoyed this one a lot. I especially enjoyed the badass FL. She rocked. With her strength of character, she reminded me of some of Louis Lamour's strong pioneer women.

I loved the FL and the little girl, but the ML was an entitled jerk. Trying to convince a girl to go against her values when she has made them perfectly clear is pretty much a cad's trick. This "I don't love her, but I want her and HAVE to have her" trope sucks and puts the male gender in an unpleasant light. It is completely un-empathetic and unethical conduct. To put it vulgarly, Nick was a dick.

Definitely one of the better Miranda Lee stories. ML was pretty much a troubled dude, but he got over it. The FL was the true strong character; having been betrayed by her lover and her father and going to prison for crimes she didn't commit. I just hope that karma catches up with those two, as well as the toxic hoe Vanessa. I also thought that the connection between the FL and her former ballet teacher was very well done and quite touching.

Loved the ML and FL. Everyone else except her short-haired friend should be sent to slop hogs until they're old and gray as penance for being douchebags.
