The Mile-High Club
I liked it. I started off being pretty turned off by the ML, but he wasn't really so bad, albeit extremely stupid. The FL and her friend, now, really rocked. I loved it when they resigned from their tabloid type magazine. They were pretty much metaphorically stepping all over their stupid self-satisfied boss with heavy boots. Having a pretty virulent hatred of paparazzi and sensationalist "journalism," the demise of gossipy rags is something that I consider worthy of celebration.
Crowned: The Palace Nanny
I liked it. I didn't want to kill the ML (maybe slap him a few times early on, though), like I do in half the HQ manga I read. The staff, however, with that "you will act like I tell you to act" attitude would be reduced to tears the first time they tried that crap on me, and not through physical violence.
The Forced Bride of Alazar
Not bad. ML wasn't the brightest. It was certainly better than the other one in the series, but that definitely ain't saying much, as that one sucked big time.
Italian Tycoon, Secret Son
ML started off as a horndog, but he got better. The FL was the coolest. I liked her. I've also known people like Henry. He's what H. Beam Piper wrote about in "Day of the Moron." The kind of person who pushes an unknown button to see what would happen.
The Troublemaker Bride
The Virgin's Seduction
Pretty good story. Aside from the main plot lines, I was impressed how it portrayed the whole spectrum of bigotry. Even the vicar seemed to think that she should be grateful that he was interested in her romantically, since she wasn't "light, white, tight, and bright." It's something I noticed back in my youth, when many young men (and their families) thought that a non-Anglo-Saxon girlfriend was pretty much like a mistress. It was cool for sex and romance, but one just didn't marry those sort of girls. Some of the prejudice and bigotry was overt and some was extremely subtle and unconscious, but there sure was a lot of it.
The Christmas Rescue
That was a really nice one. After all the arrogant, testosterone-ridden, misogynistic tycoons, a gentlemanly cop was a breath of fresh air.
Designed to Annoy
He was an idiot. If there was any chance whatsoever that the child was his late brother's, he should have immediately started an investigation instead of throwing her out and telling her to get lost.
