Zanuff the Butcher
Holy crap, I started reading it because I thought it was funny that the art was all cutesy but it was listed as horror. I absolutely did not expect to be ugly-crying by the end. So sad! And touching. Twisted, for sure, but heart-wrenching. I'm glad I read it. Not what I thought it would be at all.
Kanojo No Kare (maeda Tomo)
Very short, but a creepy little tale about love and obsession, and the unhealthy, disturbing behaviors that might lie beneath the surface of people we love. I liked it.
Eien No Aida Ni Miru Yume
Really sad. I read this ages ago, and it broke my heart. Pretty and tragic. I guess it's one of those things where, if you're going to be separated eventually anyway, you may as well have a moment of happiness. Can't read this again, though. I'll just cry.
Mic and Neo
I was torn between four stars and five until the ending. It was so sweet, so I had to go with five. Beautiful art as always, and the mangaka sure has her little kinks that seem to pop up a lot. She loves two moles on the uke, a seme with memory loss, and lack of communication of feelings causing issues, lol. But her work is great, and she never uses nasty tropes like rape to love, so her little quirks are fine by me. I actually guessed the twist right at the beginning (in a general sense) but I got so caught up in the story that I actually forgot and got surprised. XD That's the sign of a good manga. This isn't my absolute fave by her for a few reasons, but I did really enjoy it. She's quickly becoming one of my favorite mangaka.
Umi no Mukou, Tsuki no Uragawa
Ugh, so sad! At least there was the little text that said they'd meet again someday, but man, what a downer. I would have rated it higher if it were longer and more fleshed out, but for what it was, I did like it. I wish we could get a sequel to this where they do get to rekindle their friendship again. And they both end up with good people who treat them well.
Goodbye until time to meet you again
Read this in Yami BL. Very sad and twisted, but kind of sweet in a messed up way. At least they finally got to touch, sort of.
Rakka
This mangaka really has a thing for stuck up ukes being jerks then paying the price for it. But this is interesting regardless. I have mixed feelings, but I'm intrigued. I don't know if this story is gonna continue, or if this is a collection of different stories, but I'd like to see where he can go from here. ETA: So I just finished chapter five, and this gets weirder and weirder. I don't get why everyone seems to love the second couple. The whole thing is just weird and creepy. The enema, and how he's like, "You look pregnant. Let's deliver the baby!" Like wtf, I laughed but I was disturbed. And then he turned him gay by screwing him? You can't turn people gay. This isn't like being a vampire, except instead of biting to turn someone, you stick your dick in their ass. I did, however, like the third couple, despite some of its own creepy parallels. I love that age difference. And it's nice to see two lonely people comfort one another. I could have done without the weird moment where he tells the guy he sees him like his father, to which the man responds by jumping his bones. But other than that, it's cute and sweet. So far I still like her omegaverse story more, though I'm so worried about how that ones gonna end up. Plus it takes forever to update. So here I am.
10 years where I loved you the most
I don't know why I'm torturing myself with this, knowing how it ends. I thought I could handle it, then the flashbacks showed up. I don't know if I can take watching a sweet, beautiful love develop, knowing that it all falls apart in the most painful way possible, with no happy ending. But here I am.
