Indigo's manga / #Marriage(5)

Anata O Wasuretai

Complete | diana palmer,Ruka Kirishima | 2008 released

The romance in this one shot was "so-so", the shift in the male character's feelings was crude (illogical maybe). I have never been able to understand his logic behind bashing Terry, even if he were afraid of admitting he loved her but the things he told her were simply insensitive and cruel. This angle hasn't been addressed well in the manga. Isn't forgiving an insensitive playboy the same as projecting the image of a woman who lacks self-esteem? Of course I loved Terry but J.B. is a different matter. He is really uncool to say the least (jerk is the word that I had in mind).

Ai Naki Kekkon

Complete | penny jordan | 2004 released

This manga involves what can probably be described as the worst male character ever. The ending was unfulfilling as there was no gradual transition between moving from one side to the opposite one. However, the mangaka's original intention as it seems was to present a character who is so eaten by bitterness and jealousy that he had to act disdainful towards the woman who rejected him, make her suffer, hurt and entice her jealousy to compensate for that.

Koharu No Hibi

Complete | ooshiro youkou | 2000 released

This manga can give you very mixed feelings. The thing which I really liked is that Akira (the MC) didn't embrace her awkward behavior. He still maintained a criticizing approach. In addition, he wasn't feeble, he didn't seek to run away though he was alerted by the way she showed her love to him. He tried to mentor her, coach her and finally ... I won't spoil the ending for you but I am glad that the mangaka cast a yandere character who could still find acceptance from the guy she gave her affection to.

Tail of the Moon

Complete | ueda rinko | 2000 released

This is a pure entertainment manga with a heart-warming romance. I had a lot of fun reading it. If you're looking for something "kawai" and pleasant to read, you should definitely go for this one. Some elements might be considered as overbearing though, especially in regard to how the "reverse harem" was introduced but this couldn't be helped as this is one of the tropes characterizing the shoujo universe. Everyone had a happy ending except for the bad guys on whom the mangaka bestowed a redeeming act to salvage their image. If you have read/watched Ranma 1/2, it is guaranteed that you'll love this one as well.
