It’s much more unrealistic and humor-based than some, but it’s also one of the more unusual ones, and one of the ones I remember more because of it. Yes, MC is OP. Happy reading!

MC spent years as an assassin, trapped serving the murim alliance, hoping to finally find freedom. Until the day he is killed…and wakes as a young man in the demon cult. Now, he’s been given a second chance at freedom. Pretty good! One of the best martial arts manhwa I’ve read, with a more lighthearted tone despite a fairly serious plot. MC doesn’t really act like he was ever an assassin, but it gets better, and matters less the more the plot develops! Enjoy!

98 MC is a skilled member of the Mount Hua sect, killed in battle along with all his peers and seniors fighting against the demonic sect. Then, he awakes in a kid’s body, 100 years later. Really good, and SUPER funny. MC is skilled and quite intelligent, but has an abrasive personality. Plot is well-constructed and fast-paced. It’s seriously funny, too. Can’t wait to read more! MC is the illegitimate son of the demonic cult’s leader, beaten down by his six legitimate half-siblings. Until the day when a mysterious kid shows up from the future with....a nano-machine?? Pretty good, in a typical martial arts getting stronger sort of way. The nano-machine feels a bit like cheating to me, but MC is fairly clever, works hard, and actually learns and grows in character as well. Happy to keep reading for now!

Top martial arts expert is forced to reincarnate - thus begins his new life trying to surpass in strength (and happiness) his old life. Only he has a way of involving himself in things.... This was wonderful. I’ve read manhwa like this and generally been disappointed, but I love this one! The characters are clear, art really nice, plot logical and fast-paced, and MC likable, OP, and smart. Zero harem, a bit of romance, and a tomboy little sister (which is great). Very much recommend!

After a poison martial arts sect invades, MC is left as the sole survivor of his sect. As he fights for his life, he sees more and more injustices take place, even as he swears his revenge. Only, does he really have the full story? Well, this story certainly gets credit for an unusual villain character. And a more complicated plot than you’d initially assume. A bit dark and ‘everyone dies’ for me, but still good. I’ll keep reading to see where it goes!

This is my absolute favorite reincarnation / in the past manga! Nie Li is snarky in a really well-done way, and never looses sight of his ultimate goals. Brilliant and funny - please read!

The MC is fairly clever and a growing OP. While the plot can get the slightest bit muddled at times, it’s fast-paced and entertaining. An enjoyable read, for sure. Excited for more!

MC grows up the weak brother in a struggling family running a countryside inn. Until one day he gets a chance to change his fate and become strong.... A growth-type martial arts story with a slightly OP MC and good, more down-to earth art style. It’s mostly action, fighting, and scheming - also it’s also a bit family-oriented? - but the MC is intelligent the story’s been a fun read so far - it’s also getting more interesting the more you progress. Want to see where this goes - enjoy!

40 MC is an orphan fending for himself in a pre-modern world…until the day he is kidnapped and wakes in a black space with no way out. Why was he taken? And what must he do to regain his freedom? Pretty good. MC might go a bit off the deep end? But he’s intelligent and capable, and the plot certainly takes one or two twists that you wouldn’t expect. Martial arts-type story. Enjoy!
