Life Senjou no Bokura

Complete | TOKOKURA Miya | 2016 released

"Together, in joy and in sorrow..." - A slice-of-life BL masterpiece with a pretty unique beginning (and ending as well)! Overall, it's a beautiful story which through time progression tells the pure but also painful love story of two guys from their teens to when they're old. Well, I have to say that the time progression felt a bit rushed. For example, I wanted to see a bit more when they started going out and were still high-school students. And their university phase was also passed on very quickly. Also, their first time was not shown, and I wanted to see it, as it was something new that they experienced for the first time together. Notwithstanding, the story is very good, especially considering it's a story written in one volume only! And after all, I think the author wrote it like that, because she wanted us to look upon the whole and, more than on the concrete steps and intimate moments of their relationship, to focus on the emotional aspect of their relationship, which is put to hard test when along the way it is confronted with some realistic societal issues and worries an adult in a same-sex couple may face, like the ones faced by Itou in this case. So the core of the story was about the crisis and break up they faced along the way. Well, all is well that ends well! I'm glad, despite his decision, Itou's unchanged feelings for Nishi were so strong that they brought him back to Nishi, who also wasn't never able to forget Itou, and so they got back together in that sort of fateful reunion in the magical atmosphere of the aurora in Alaska and then spent their lives together till the time of their deaths came. And yes, the author showed us the moments of their respective deaths, Itou before (at 69) and Nishi years after (at 82), and although that's sad, it's the natural course of things so I still appreciated how she portrayed a realistic story till the very end! Apart from tragedies, they almost never show us this in stories, but in the end, unless they're immortal characters, that's what is going to happen to all the characters of the stories we read. That's just how life is, after all! > In the extra I liked when it briefly showed both their mothers meeting once at the hospital when they were both pregnant, expecting Itou and Nishi. It was like they were really fated to meet each other even before being born! xD

Glass Syndrome

Complete | Eiko ariki | 2019 released

Well, I liked the idea, as it was the kind of situation / dynamic that I like. But that was mostly at the beginning, for how the story started, their initial interaction and when the class president found out his classmate cross-dressed for that cam site / online chat...then, I have to say that how the story continued, developed and the way itself in which it was written didn't convince me much, and then their interaction wasn't interesting anymore, so it wasn't much satisfying for me. Maybe because I imagined a bit different development. But I really felt the author could have done more with all this. Something was missing. Also the fact that in the end it was shounen ai, I admit that, for how the story was going, I anticipated the moment when they would become intimate, especially since the seme said he wanted to touch him more and the uke said he had never done that and to go easy on him, so yeah...all in all, I wasn't really satisfied with this story...I needed a bit more! But I still liked it! I liked also the other oneshot included called "Similar Figures of Love" (ch.4 p.36-63, 72-75). It was too short though...and, just like the main story, I needed something more! >> Note: It's not Gender Bender and not Yaoi either.

Slow Life Everyday

Ongoing | Nidonesugi | 2019 released

// Complete // Man, if all BLs were like this! It was so well-written, with good characters, dynamics and development. I liked their relationship and interaction. The pace was just right. And there was such a nice vibe going on, rendered by the warm atmosphere of the shopping street and Hide's house and family and especially by the characters' sweetness! I really loved everything! A satisfying heart-warming reading!

Bokura no Issen

Ongoing | Karikata hinono | 2019 released

Seichoutsuu

Ongoing | kajigaya michiru | 2019 released

// Complete // Can't help it, this is one of those coming of age gems I love to read, so I loved it so much! The dynamics and interaction between the characters were also my type. And I love this author's art style: somehow this type of trait made me feel like I was really reading a story between two guys. I really loved the vibe of this story! I liked how the author portrayed the confused, new sensations of two innocent boys in puberty. I also liked the thing about communicating through letters. Nowadays it may seem so outdated, but, even if it's a fictional story, I was glad to see that there was someone like Natsume who appreciated this kind of thing, as I am into vintage stuff myself. Anyway, I liked everything from beginning to end and the pace and development, so I'm really satisfied. By the way, I really like the title "Growing Pains". And I was somehow touched when I read the afterword because the author said she wrote this story with all of her preferences in mind and I liked all the things she said! Those are exactly the ones I love too. No wonder then that I loved this! It was really the story for me! And I have this fulfilling feeling, you know, that you have when you finally come across your kind of story. I'm so glad I found this! ^^ > It reminded me a bit of the story "Shiro No Koro".
