Daydream Nightmare

Complete | inose | 2011 released

Animal Characteristics // Demon // Fox // Dream World // Amnesia // Bishounen "To call a pretty nightmare a pig...is there something wrong with your eyes?" Haha (≧∀≦) - This fantasy tale surely is cute and funny. I loved Baku and Ichi: it was so sweet when Ichi was born and Baku gave him his name and took care of him. It's obvious that some form of affection grew in Baku. No matter if you consider it shounen ai or just bromance, it's still nice to read! But it's a pity that there are only 8 chapters and, in fact, towards the end it felt rushed! Not satisfying ending, I wanted more!! And, not even a kiss?? XD (Btw I couldn't really decide on who is the biggest pervert between Kusumi and Emupusa lol)

RESTART (Harada)

Imo, with this short but deep story, Harada-sensei showed what really means to be gay or, more in general, be "different" from others, taking into consideration how the look of the characters was designed. Sensei wanted to make us reflect on discrimination against those seen as "not normal" by society. I think this is the core of this beautiful oneshot. "What is normal?" - The questions Miki asked himself are very important. In fact, thinking about it, it's all society's fault, how it imposes rules on people and the ones who don't seem to fit its standards/requirements are looked with disgust...all this is what led Miki in a corner. At pages 12-13 we see how people look at you with disgust and offend you for being "different". All he wanted was to be able to stay with the person he loves, holding hands with him in public, but he held everything inside, making jokes in front of others, a game of "make-believe", and not being honest even with the seme, to hide his feelings. [MAY SPOIL] He even went to Thailand, cause he had made a brave decision: he wanted to become a woman so that he could have kids, but that's not possible. Drunk and sad, he then got in an accident. The reason why he went there in the first place and his thoughts were touching. It's also meaningful how he lost almost all of his memories but the seme's face: he wanted to forget all bad things but his love for the seme. He came to have a few screws loose, he became like a child who says all he truly thinks...now he communicates in a honest way, saying all the things he didn't before, showing his true personality. But the seme also loves him and, after what happened to Miki, he felt regretful that he wasn't brave before. In fact, when Miki asked to move to Shibuya, after hearing that same-sex marriage is recognized by law, he rejected him, afraid Miki would say it was a joke again... ➳ At least, now they are honest about they feelings and, as the title suggests, they'll start anew! And Miki's memory is also slowly coming back! ➳ At the end, what really matters is what makes us happy, not what society thinks. I really never read anything like this! It was so deep and unique! Shibutani-kun Tomo no Kai

Complete | fujieda toru | 2000 released

At the time I read this story, it was dropped and the last volume was still missing...I remember that I was really loving the story and then when the ending finally came, I was so disappointed. I loved Range and Ageha and I wanted them to end up together. Not simply because I love BL, but I was especially rooting for them, because I liked their relationship, their interaction and everything. That's just my personal taste of course, but I really think it would have been perfect that way. I knew that Ageha would end up with Nina, the girl he liked since the beginning, but still I couldn't abandon my hope to see him together with Range... My poor Range ♡

Sabaki No Chi

Ongoing | Tonami Taeko | 1999 released

So interesting! Just give me this kind of stories and you get me!! Love this!~♡ "He's a man with a child and he's a king. To add to that he's 700 something years old old man. What am I talking about...?" haha how cute our Biskyuu, troubled over his thoughts about the man he thought to be his princess xD ➸ Anyway, this story is not only cute, but also very intriguing. I enjoy reading fantasy adventures with good plot, interesting characters and nice art, so I hope to read more...especially because there are many things to know yet! One can kinda guess what happened to Biskyuu and king Erudora during their journey, but I want to know the details about it, so I'm looking forward to read the whole story! ➤ 2 Volumes (Complete)

Diamond Dust

Complete | Kang Hyung-Gyu | 2000 released

"I heard that up at the North Pole, bits of ice get swept up by the wind and float around...and when light from the sun hits them, they sparkle, like diamonds...If you try to catch those little pieces with your hands, they disappear...Although the world really seems like a beautiful thing, you can't catch everything..." ➸ Diamond Dust certainly caught my attention. After reading it, I can say that it's really heatbreaking, but imo it's a great, emotional story. I think it's well written. Personally, I liked the plot, how it was developed and its narrative structure with many flashbacks: I was hooked! I also liked the characters and I think the art-style is unique...the atmosphere and the perspective of certain scenes are amazing! ➸ I think certain encounters happen becuase of fate...and maybe that was the case for Moon HyeRin, a piano prodigy who tried to take her own life, and Lee JooWon, an indie band's vocalist who desperately wanted to live! That is an encounter that will change HyeRin and her life! They both were having a difficult life, because of different circumstances, and what they had in common was the love for music... [Containing spoilers] When they first meet in the story, that's actually a reencounter, because they already met four years earlier in New York, as we find out later through the flashback. However, it's like a first time meeting, because they don't remember each other: she has repressed memories and he has amnesia. So, it was interesting to see how they interacted. HyeRin's mind erased that memory in which she experienced immense happiness, because she knew that the freedom she felt that day would never come again. Still, after meeting him again, she could move her fingers, which had been stiff for three years already, so she felt that there was definitely a connection and she remembered soon after. On the other hand, JooWon had more difficulty becuase of his condition, but then he also managed to remember their first meeting...yes, he remembered! It was emotional when HyeRin read on the piece of paper "We met in New York". And in the process of all this, they fell in love with each other! "If I am with HyeRin, even this foggy world is beautiful. I have to live. I want to live". Yet, time was running out for JooWon...ahhh my poor heart! ╥﹏╥ ➸ It's certainly sad and it bought tears to my eyes, but it's a beautiful touching story! So, for me it's worth reading it and I recommend it, especially to those who for example loved Koizora and were moved by it. ➸ Digital Comic with Audio - Original webtoon: http://cartoon.media.daum.net/webtoon/view/diamonddust

Workplace Romance // Office Love // Manager // Career Woman // Love at First Sight // Popular Male Lead // Secret Relationship // Pregnancy // Marriage One Thousand and One Nights with You - Another smut RomCom by Yoshihara Yuki (originally published in Oboretai). TBH, I don't like much stories like this, but to read once in a while they aren't so bad. As a matter of fact, I must say I quite enjoyed this one: it's hilarious and I liked the male lead! >> Maybe in the last chapter, the amnesia part was a bit pointless and its cause was kinda ridiculous, but I guess it was a device to match the change of setting and so enliven their "honeymoon" in Saudi Arabia... Anyway, the last pages were sweet and the kid was so cute!! Endings like this are always nice! 。^‿^。
