this was just sooo good. the dialogues were perfect and the characters’ inner thoughts more so. i seriously cant find a bummer moment this is such a good piece of fiction and im so serious. people 50 years from now would discover taming the tiger and regret they didn’t read it when it was being published (as i did).
and because i cant find a thing i didnt like in this manhwa, let me tell u everything i loved about it: i thought beom and geomhu comparing each other and their feeling to seasons was perfect; beom leaping up every time geumhu came home; the fact that geumhu could only sleep when he was with beom; beom curling up against geumhu; the way that geumhu died bc of a dumbass cold (bc he sat outside...cos he wanted to wait for beom to come home...bc he missed him even if he hadn't been gone for a full day) and the irony of someone who radiated power dying in a manner so unremarkable; the reincarnation plot; even the fucking feminization......bro
moving on….can we talk about how pretty the art was? geumhu is probably the prettiest manhwa character ever and mind u bwat has the best looking characters ever omfg and while we’re talking about art this manhwa is the perfect example of show dont tell we’ve been told multiple times in the story how much beom loved geumhu but geumhu never really said that word (maybe once or twice) but we were SHOWN!!!! that he cared for beom and he loved beom in return. oh my god.
when geumho died and beom went to see thee tree and died with him. when geumho, in the after life, asked beom why he followed him so soon and beom said it was because he missed him (something something about beom and geumhu constantly missing each other)….these lines beat perfect buddy’s “maybe all the times ive been lonely were simply preparing me for the day i finally got to meet you” by a mile its not even close. thats how you write real romance thats how you write characters talking to each other who have REAL love for each other death cab for cutie wrote i will follow u into the dark for geumhu and beom the smiths wrote there is a light that never goes out for geumhu and beom orpheus and eurydice have nothing on geumhu and beom they met after hundreds of years oh my god nobody can write better love stories than bwat its over other bl writers have to give up atp bwat have to continue living to write more romance for another two hundred years theres no other way around this im sorry
i will never recover from this story any time soon or maybe ever it brought me to tears and made me smile at the most appropriate times i hope this gets a hardbound version with the prettiest cover i will buy 27 copies rip to shakespeare u would have loved taming the tiger
