It soooo sad. My theory is when bot say he be release from prison soon because his prison friend is already got released, I think he meant that his prison friend got executed and not he next. Top also have a disappointed mom since he don’t have children or wife yet. But top love bot especially since it been 2 years since he see bot again. Bot alway travel the country leaving Top behind. Top finally decide to go with Bot and whole board the ship, top saw guard searching for catholic. Top panic and tell bot did he throw his shit away. He reassure him he did. He did not though. So the guard find it and take bot to prison. Bot wrote letters convincing Top to go to China and bot will be right behind him. Top left. He have a hard to adapting at first but he got the hang of it. Top write letter to bot but he never answer again. Top die alone in China and his last moment he think to himself that bot trick him again and he finally decide to not trust him anymore . It also hint that bot die in prison. Also they say they want to get a traditional marriage when they finally get to China which is soooo sad In the letter “So when you come, I will tell you about everything” The end “But, that friend of mine, never came after all.” “Was it a lie, was you mocking me as usual?
