Koi no Mimiyori Chuuihou
4 different stories, all cute and light-hearted. The first one builds on a weird premise (a misunderstanding anyway), but I chose to ignore it as a weird kink :))). How else do you approach a guy who chases another guy begging to clean his earwax?
Anti-Romance
Hidaka Shoko is a master story-teller and I'm loving the nice art progression we see (this was finished in 2020). I can't wait for volume 2 of this, it's so slow and awkward and human and it's finally starting. Edit: Vol. 2 was out last month and it's finally finished. There's so much awkwardness for two people who've known each other since kindergarten but the underlying theme is golden and it's reflected into 2 other couples - unrequited love, feelings that are never received will eventually fizzle out and disappear leaving nothing behind. Hiroki doesn't want that in the end and he decides to stop being passive about their relationship and confront their mutual feelings head on. Also, this story has awkward virgins and then switching
Keiyaku Cohabitation
I really love this mangaka's work, even if I dislike the 'I'll tolerate the gay as long as you don't attack me' (it's just so humiliating). This has an ongoing sequel in Japan, chapters out every two months, so it'll be quick to finish, possibly this year (2024).
Our Sweet 1R
2024 7S license. Sweet story about a relationship that is already 2 years old with a one-year cohabitation, where one boy is worried he might be a sex addict and starts avoiding sex while the other takes it as a sign of feelings growing cold - which is actually what I liked here. The premise for this little drama seems ridiculous but Shima's anxiety is real and it broke my heart a little. As always, everything is resolved with communication, duh.
Experience forecast
This is cute if you like tsundere characters who never say I love you and are fuckbuddies with feelings for years. Seme is a spoiled brat but crazy in love, uke is taking care of his meals in exchange for drawing him (he's a mangaka). Both are in love, neither says it or realises for ages.
Renchin!
I love this and was absolutely elated when I realised there was a 2nd volume. It's so gentle and the protagonist is a sweet, quiet man who has a lot of love to give but cannot find the right person (he is in unrequited love with his best friend, who is straight and recently married and quite aware of his feelings). Waki-kun, the tasteless buds food reporter is a hurricane who takes over Yoshirou's life and meals and brings him a sense of purpose and belonging. It's a very kind story and their love-making is so hot, seen as the art is not terribly detailed, so full of feeling: the first time they have sex, Yoshirou's fingers are trembling trying to unbutton his shirt, and this give us a sizzling hot 69 as well in the last chapter. They are happy, out to whoever is interested and committed to each other. Love <3. Edit: I just knew that repressed coworker obliviously in love with Kami would turn out gay and would hook up with megane coworker!
Konna Koi nara Owari ni Shitai!
Tokyopop. Probably not a buy, though it's sweet and deals with self-acceptance in a roundabout way.
