Koi wo Suru Tsumori wa Nakatta
I subscribed to Futekiya to read this and they already put it up here :( Edit: 7S will get it in print
Kanchigai lover
I really like this, I tend to like this artist's work as a rule, but this is a little more light-hearted, even if dealing with unrequited feelings - the uke, Shiratori, is cute as hell and absolutely bent on keeping his crush to himself. It goes a little predictably the route of straight guy wondering how the other side lives, and probably will end up having gay sex as a test, but I'm hoping it's handled respectfully (I do recall KK's tendence to use rape as a plot device a little too freely, hopefully she skips it this time?). Edit: Phew, no rape, and the story is much sillier and light-hearted than the usual angst.
Contrast
Itz is such a story-telling master! I can't wait to see where this is going - it's a really nicely paced slow burn and the characters are not goody two shoes, but have a bit of dark edge to them. Reminded me of Enjou's work a bit. Edit: In the end these guys are the sweetest and fluffiest boys, who love each other and pass almost a year between the first confession and actually going out. There's no sex, only young feelings.
Daisy Jealousy
This looks lovely - friendly rivals at work, tsundere seme (?) and hard-working (talentless, hah) uke. Looking forward to future chapters! Edit: Out in January 2024 from Sublime. The translation here is actually from Russian so it makes no sense in places. I can't wait to see the end of this story!!!
Low Temperature Blanket
This is Saika Kunieda, so it's funny and heartbreaking and I am so happy she made this oneshot into 2 (two!) whole volumes of awesomesness - I went through the raws until the end, even though I can't read Japanese for shit, and I cannot wait to see this in English. It's not incest, I cannot stress enough how relieved I was to read 'not blood-related' (cause knowing SK's penchant for tragedy, it could have gone either way, man). Uncle Hoichi is 12 years older and was mostly acting as the elder brother through Daisuke's childhood - there is no pining or feelings from when they were raised together, Dai-chan is going through puberty and finds himself caring for his air-head uncle and falling for his clueless self. The humour is on point, I was with Daisuke when he finds that Hoichi's dick is hard as he's trying to sex him up and air-pumping in joy (it all veers into drama that he somehow ignored the signs of, when Hoichi confesses he is trying to help him get relief in order to be able to concentrate on studies - which earns him a slap). It was heartbreaking to read Daisuke's flashbacks 2 years later, when he recalls his uncle being afraid of him after this episode and his guilt at realizing Hoichi had been an abused child before coming into their family. It's a very sweet story, mostly from Daisuke's POV and with a little more impenetrable uke than the usual from SK. Super funny and super sad as always.
Crack Star
A little weird in places - like Shino hearing Mio being fucked in the toilet stall next to him and his only valid response being jerking off to that. There's a tiny bit of possessiveness in their relationship - their first kiss is a little forceful and this didn't sit well with me at all: 'If you can do it with him, you can do it with me'. Also, call me a freak, but I wish the seme went down on Mio from time to time instead of pulling his dick out and ordering 'lick it'. Definitely a weird one from an otherwise favourite mangaka.
Goodbye Lilac
This is a gentle and mature story, even the gay-for-you part is left somewhat hanging in the extra - the straight guy finds the uke cute and loves him dearly, but the sex might not be all that frequent. Very sweet though and very romantic actually. Licensed in French.
Asobi Neko Norari Kurari
I love this author and I love this story so much - I can't believe the puritan comments it's got, this is a gorgeous story with an incredible atmosphere. Uke sleeps around, so fucking what, he's not saving himself for his one true love, big deal. And he is truly quietly in love - lovely, lovely stray cat story.
Kurui Naku no wa Boku no Ban Beta
I love this secondary story, always rooting for the underdog - Utou is so amazing and perfect, yet as a beta he cannot be what Sumi needs. And yet, and yet... HE with kids, my darlings <3 Edit: Utou is so amazing and Sumi becomes so sweet once he accepts he can love a beta. They have 2 kids!!! A little sad that the other couple didn't manage to get their wanted child, but this is a lovely, heart-wrenching manga. French and Tokyopo.
