Aww man, this is so unhinged and I love it! I was ready to give up after the first chapter and then it somehow changed gears and became something unexpected: cop guy is actually a stalker who falls in love with MC in highschool, a bit like a creep cause they have no actual interaction, and then becomes a detective in order to watch over his scamming life and save his ass if necessary. Somehow the MC scammer is more normal in the head than the man representing the law :). MC carries a torch for some guy in hs who is the reason he thinks of quitting his criminal life, but it turns out that guy is actually a worse criminal than him, who tries to frame him for drug dealing and beats him up. It's mad men in love, ride or die, but with a bit of a comedic tone.
