The Cradle of the Sea

Complete | NAGANO Mei | 2000 released

The pace of this story is quite fast, a bit too fast for the various plot points that happen and I also have a hard time with the way the FL’s actions in the first arc because it puts a child’s life in serious danger. Over looking the child endangerment, the rest of the novel movies fluidly and has many interesting characters with diverse personalities and backgrounds. Another drawback to this piece is that the ending seemed a tad rushed to me, but not so much as to leave a bad aftertaste. Definitely something I’d consider reading again.

I am a child of this house

Ongoing | Shiya,Cotun | 2018 released

This is okay. I used to be really into this, but as the story progress I’ve slowly lost interest. The element of reincarnation seems very trivial and doesn’t add anything to the story. One could argue that it accentuates her want to feel parental love, but honestly if it’s only to add flare to make her bond with her dad seem more plausible, that means the basis of this story needs more work. However, I do enjoy that the FL embodies everything that her family is as she grows older. She shows that she is unapologetically a Castello and that she won’t be a typical nice and peaceful heroine but time will tell if the FL will continue to act like this.

Isekai Omotenashi Gohan

Complete | Shinobumaru,Medamayaki | 2000 released

Suddenly Became a Princess One Day

Complete | Plutus,Spoon , 스푼 | 2018 released

One of the OG’s of the isekai world, at least to me, this story is over achieving in multiple different areas. The art itself is beautiful and consistent throughout the whole story, some may say it even gets better! The story line itself is also very interesting and fun to read with many different twist and turns to keep the reader engaged. Lastly, the characters themselves all feel very well planned out and are all interesting in their own way with dynamic relationships and interesting personalities.

The Archmage's Daughter

The Evil Sorceress Plans to Survive!

I Became the Villain's Mother

Ongoing | Yuliji | 2020 released

LV999 no Murabito

Ongoing | Hoshitsuki Koneko,Iwamoto Kenichi | 2000 released

It was good on the first initial phase of things, but then I found myself quickly loosing interest. After a while I’d find myself skipping a few pages here or there to try to get to the meat of the matter and quickly realizing that I do this now for most chapters as of late. It’s not a bad manga, just very wordy(?) and a little bland(?) maybe? I can’t put my finger on it particularly but I honestly can’t keep myself engaged when reading this anymore.

E? Heibon Desu Yo??

Complete | tsukiyuki hana | 2000 released

I actually really enjoyed this piece. Many people in the comments seem to questions the maturity of the main character but in all honesty it only said she was in high school, not that she was a senior for all we know she could have been a freshman. I do know I lack knowledge on the Japanese education system, so I’m going off of what I know. This girl could be 13-14 at youngest. She was then reincarnated into a child once again and was treated like a child and also had to adapt to her new surroundings. I’d like to believe that she was pretty okay mentally given the circumstances. I honestly don’t think she acted too childishly at all. We also have to take into consideration what is considered mature changes from culture to culture and what knowledge is considered basics or common since changes based on experience and location. Just give the FL some room to breathe please.

A light hearted read that makes a reader feel fluffy. I was concerned about this potentially being a harem tag, but thankfully we’ve avoided that so far, so fingers crossed! Nothing revolutionary in terms of story line or characters, an ex hero wanting to take it slow. So not new per say but still well written with no gramatical/translation/editing errors (or as I’ve noticed) so I’m a happy camper. I look forward to this light hearted read in the future!
