Seme is a bit of a coward and kinda in denial though as in chapter 5, uke was the one who did all the work to get the courage to contact seme and confess even after seme rejected uke (so as not to get hurt and to release uke from his obligation to seme). Premise: Seme is the school heartthrob, uke just wants a girlfriend and get over the memories of his first love and failed relationship. Uke texts seme thinking he’s texting a girl in his class who he wants to start a relationship with and possibly likes him too. Instead he texts seme and seme thinks uke texts him knowing who he is. Uke talks about seme’s ex-boyfriend thinking he’s talking to the girl and seme while shocked uke knows he’s gay goes along with it until uke asks him out on a date again thinking it’s the girl. Seme says yes and they meet the next day. To uke’s shock gorgeous heartthrob seme shows up talking about how bold uke is and uke doesn’t have the heart to clear the misunderstanding when he sees how happy seme is and how he’s opening up earnestly when he’s a lone wolf in school… And now instead of a girlfriend, uke has a boyfriend, haha! C05: To be honest, seme’s side PoV of how he fell for uke was underwhelming and felt like he wasn’t being honest with himself like he was in denial. He said he was just curious at first and just wanted to see where it led before uke confessed to messaging someone else but ssme seemed so happy at the same time so either seme is a closet manipulator or he’s unaware how much he actually liked uke from before.., why would he go through the trouble of exposing himself to a fellow classmate he hardly talks to who is you know is straight just to mess around with him? Like, so that just you superficially wanted a high school romance like every other high school student? I don’t buy it. Sure he wanted a normal high school romance but being gay would put him on alert way more… I feel author held back in him a lot for something better or we’re just supposed to figure it out but either way, I was not satisfied with his POV and his reasoning… it felt way too shallow for how earnest his reactions were… SemePOV (c05).
