I’ve already watched the movie of this manga years ago but I’ve never read the book. I notice some characters and scenes are done differently than what’s portrayed in the film. I did love seeing the special cameos of Vampire Hunter D and Wicked City in this though! The plot is a little hard to comprehend at first but overall it was quite enjoyable. Maybe a sequel could be nice as Hideyuki mentions at the end, but sometimes a series doesn’t need a continuation. But if it did happen, it would be a treat to learn more about what happens with the rest of the characters, as it seems there’s potential in exploring more about them, especially Darkside’s origins. Darkside’s powers are phenomenal though, hence why I like calling him a “Dream Doctor” or “Doctor Dream”, hehe. The way the art is drawn such as some scenes with Mai are really done beautifully. Darkside Blues is worth reading if you’re a fan checking out the rest of the author’s works and you like the art. It’d be nice if we had Darkside’s power in the world today, I think it’d do a lot of wonders for everyone who need it such as Mai.
