I love it, it's a childhood friend trope. Both of them like/love each other but because it's been unrequited love for so long and they are alpha beta, there is mistrust, doubts, their relationship is toxic because based on years of resentment, perceive broken promises. They know each other too well they know what button to press to hurt the other but they love each other to much, they ache to be along side each other so much that they could not stop their shit show of a relationship. Meanwhile a naïve/ Buffon Alpha is having a crush on our MC, our beta keep pushing him away but also start to feel something new. That new guy is pushy and persistent, always wants to help even when not needed, rather fuck things up by trying than doing nothing at all. My opinion is our MC should find someone else none of the two seems suitable, the second alpha doesn't understand the concept of boundaries and keep pushing them and then saying "sorry". The first alpha knows the boundaries so well he won't even try anymore (any attempt to try results in sex so not working). Even if our MC really need someone to lean on to.
