FL is an orphan with a rich uncle, one day she decides to go to capital when her friend call her there. Uncle says no but she still boards the train and comes to meet her friend. On this train, she and ML interract for the first time and both are attracted to each, for FL it was love at first sight. On leaving the train, surprise await her cuz her friend is no where to be found instead she finds out that her friend has been using her name and has piled up a huge debt in FL's name. ML on the other hand can't stop thinking about the pure and innocent girl he met on train , he is the type of guy who had many girlfriends in the past but ended when things got clingy mutually. He thinks about forgetting FL by random hookup too but he just can't do it so he decide to find about her. The head maid in ML's home, however, tells him that FL is a pro courtesean and a swindler who is drowned in a huge debt. When ML hears his pure and innocent girl fantasy shatter and he is like 'eww, okay I don't need this prostitute'. Some time later I think head maid suggest him to take FL in as a mistress but keep her on a leash. He agrees but says he'll wait for her to drown in more debts then swoop in and act like a savior so she is complete submissive to him. After FL accept his offer, the head maid lie to FL that ML prefer experienced women so she trains FL to act like a courtesean to please ML. Basically, head maid is a bitch. ML and FL stay 3 years in this relationship, during which he treats FL like a dog (author's words not mine). She is disposible to him, he keeps thinking, he'll throw her away whenever the time comes. FL is an idiot who keeps thinking one day he will marry her but he never even consider it at all. To him she is too lowly and poor to marry him. In his mind, someone better deserve duchess seat. FL is just a sex doll for him. FL is also a writer, one day she thinks about submitting her manuscript to a publisher. She dresses up as man for this purpose (it is an era thing, men had more rights back then). The publisher she meets is also a set up made by the servants mainly head maid and his aide. They all frame FL as a cheater and ML just loses his shit over this. One of FL's close maid lies to ML and say FL has been meeting up with a man by dressing up as man and they are in relationship. ML does fucking nothing to clear this misunderstanding and just believe everyone. He doesn't even ask FL directly. The communication here is dead, these two never talk about each other and this trash ML has kept her on leash by thinking that she is prostitute.
