Misya's manga / #Friendship(2)

Taimashi to Akuma-chan

Ongoing | Tonamishou | 2000 released

This manga is so adorable. Lily is so sweet, I wonder what she’ll look like when she’s older? Or more importantly, what happens at the end of this series. I understand why some people might see this as lolicon or be uncomfortable about the age gap. However, since I’m studying child behavior, it’s not unusual for kids to want to marry or fall in love with their parent. This is a phase that’s outgrown, but Lily is different from this. She shows understanding that she is too young and not mature enough. Lily also seems to know that Evan’s love is more akin to familial love. Plus, I haven’t seen Evan ever take advantage of these feelings (although, he does like to tease her, but he also teases everybody). Of course, I must admit that his teasing can be oddly, um, erotic(?). Which is definitely WEIRD to do to a child. Which reminds me… How old is Lily? She’s a demon, so I don’t think they’d age or grow like humans…

How to Diet as a Lady

Ongoing | | 2022 released

I understand readers’ dislike for the FL reason for weight loss, but let’s be real. I’m positive there are plenty of those who start losing weight for a similar reason; I say this because I’m one of them. The way society has ingrained in our minds that being thin is the only way to be beautiful or successful is toxic AF. Let me also add, that while I’m not trying to speak for the author, but I don’t think this story is representative of the author’s personal belief or opinion either regarding why you should lose weight. We shouldn’t have to concern ourselves with an opinion either. Also, who’s to say that the FL doesn’t change her mind about why she wants to lose weight or decides to just live healthier in a future chap? She has wonderful family, friends, and possibly a partner that love her the way she is! Side note: I wish I had someone like Leo by my side, but I’m a super introvert and don’t like to open myself up too deeply to others. I highly doubt anyone I know irl would want to know either. Oddly enough, I feel safer sharing these thoughts/opinions of mine on the internet. Lame, right?
