Being somewhat in the closet myself, it’s understandable how Sakura(ML) feels. Even in today’s society, I still feel unsure about stating my sexual orientation. Of course, if anyone changes their behavior (negatively) around you when your sexual orientation becomes known, they aren’t worth pursuing any kind of relationship with. However, I’m scared of exactly that. It would feel like I’m being betrayed and that’d be so painful for me.
I really appreciate Yousuke doing his best to understand Sakura’s challenges and is willing to be patient. Yousuke tries to converse with Sakura about the issues covered in the manga. He also doesn’t hesitate to talk about how he feels either. A relationship isn’t a one-way street. Both sides need to give, not just take. Communication is especially important to having a healthy relationship.
I wonder if I’ll be somewhat closeted forever, lol…
