I can see why he took it out on Uke, even if it is fucked up of him. Either way, I love the sci-fi premise of this--it's always interesting to blur the lines between emotions that are genuine vs ones that are programmed. Obviously, though, even if Uke's feelings did start out programmed, it later became genuine, similar to how human emotions of lust and/or infatuation become a longer-lasting chemical reaction that leads to devotion.
