So the fear of losing that love and not having the other in their life is real. So I do like that, even if it doesn't make sense--at first glance, at least--they're still insecure about their relationship. Because, really, there is more reason to be insecure in a passionate relationship like that rather than one where the feelings grew and adjusted over time.

Uke just manipulates his self-image. Because of that, they're unable to honest with each other and lie to high hell so that the other will stay with them. So, when they finally overcome that boundary together, it's a sweet satisfaction that brings them closer even after threatening to tear them apart. I would've given this manga a perfect 5-star if it wasn't for chp 5 OTL

But for the insiders, it was just the same oxygen they've been breathing in on daily basis. The only reason why they had such trouble was cuz the extent of the familiarity spanned years, so ofc they'd have trouble navigating and bridging this new territory between them.

One thing that really stood out to me tho: after the rape incident, Hachi punches Seme for doing the same thing to Uke that he did to Kuma. That put into perspective what Hachi's emotional state was when he said cruel things to Kuma in chp 2. If he could have, he would've beaten up his younger self for hurting Kuma so horribly.

Still, I would've liked this manga a lot more had Seme suffered more from the consequences of his actions. It would've made the redemption part more...redeeming lol. Theeeen we could've gotten to the uke giving seme a second chance. But I did enjoy the sassier way Uke addressed Seme, as well as how Seme enjoyed it. It was freer and it added something sincere to their relationship.

If there was going to be any omegaverse that anyone could love and everyone should read, this is it. There is rape in this manga, but it was years before Uke met Seme and the way rape was handled was realistic and tragic, with the way rapists were handled later being satisfying. One of the probably five (out of the 50 or so I've read) w/no rape between Seme and Uke whatsoever. Other things I love: (1) the no-nonsense portrayal of just how oppressed omegas were and how society needs to make SIGNIFICANT strides to make a just system for omegas, betas, and alphas. (2) The way Seme and Uke love each other so fkkn much. Seme gives Uke respect he deserves and Uke gives Seme a happiness no one else can. (3) The psychological aspect of alphas standing above others. Seme was affected by becoming scared and rejecting his privilege until he realized he could use it to protect Uke. Rapist was affected by letting go of morals and digging himself deeper into cruelty. And more lol. Last aside: The rapist here has dark marks under his eyes, which reminds me of how Sangwoo and Bum have dark circles under theirs to represent how unhealthy they were. So that is a nice foreboding touch there, Hijiki-san.
