Complete | TOMOCHI | 2016 released

#Domestic Violence #Abusive relationship #Uke ends up starving self #Ex cheats on uke #Ex tries to fake being straight even by hurting uke #Ex marries a woman #Uke and seme break up #Uke and seme get back together #Healing #Uke learns to have healthy relationship Love it. Love it, love it, love it. Not really because of the Uke/Seme or even the smut, but because of the portrayal of why many victims go back to their abusers. Why many victims choose to unhealthy relationships over healthy ones. Why it was the Ex who had to push away Uke even when Uke began pretty much starving himself and was getting beaten up by Ex. It was very emotional and well-drawn. And I loved the parallels of the Ex who did pretty much every shitty thing he could do to Uke vs Seme, who even got mad when Uke was trying to force the issue of unsafe sex.

#Underage sex #Adult/Minor #High School #Janitor/Son of CEO #Fated pairs #Adult is uke/omega #Minor is seme/alpha #I love the daughter #Shizuka stan #Seme's mom cracks me up #Uke's mom is an admirable woman #Female!omega represented beautifully #Possessive seme #Loving seme #Pushy seme #Insecure uke #Single dad uke #Gentle uke #Uke raped as teen #Uke faces rapist as adult Holy crap, this manga...this MANGA...THIS MANGA, MAN. If there was going to be any omegaverse that anyone could love and everyone should read, this is it. There is rape in this manga, but it was years before Uke met Seme and the way rape was handled was realistic and tragic, with the way rapists were handled later being satisfying. One of the probably five (out of the 50 or so I've read) w/no rape between Seme and Uke whatsoever. Other things I love: (1) the no-nonsense portrayal of just how oppressed omegas were and how society needs to make SIGNIFICANT strides to make a just system for omegas, betas, and alphas. (2) The way Seme and Uke love each other so fkkn much. Seme gives Uke respect he deserves and Uke gives Seme a happiness no one else can. (3) The psychological aspect of alphas standing above others. Seme was affected by becoming scared and rejecting his privilege until he realized he could use it to protect Uke. Rapist was affected by letting go of morals and digging himself deeper into cruelty. And more lol. Last aside: The rapist here has dark marks under his eyes, which reminds me of how Sangwoo and Bum have dark circles under theirs to represent how unhealthy they were. So that is a nice foreboding touch there, Hijiki-san.

#Slice of life #Emotionally and mentally abused uke #Uke learned to be codependent from and on guardian #Beautiful uke #Tattoo artist seme #Seme tattoos uke #Seme kisses uke w/o consent #Uke readies himself to be raped by seme #Seme shows uke that he is not that kind of guy and that uke deserves better #Seme teaches uke autonomy and how to choose for self "Oh. For him, this was the only thing he could do. The only way he could figure out how to express his feelings was by doing something like this." <-- This is THE reason why I wanted to keep this manga on my list. That line right there reflects so many truths for people who do horrible things, both to themselves and to others. Sometimes, the only way we can explain the pain is by inflicting it in ways that others can see with the naked eye. Especially if we never learned how to release or describe our pain growing up. Also, the Seme treating Uke w/the love Uke never received in his life made me melt. After being thrown away by that old man for hurting 'his art', it's so...comforting, for the Seme to take him in and treat him extra gently because Uke hurt /himself/. There are also other heartwarming moments that continue past that point. ^^

#Uke has shame and humiliation kink #Uke gets off on dangerous situations #Uke has high self-hatred #Seme comes along to give aftercare following sex #Shows seme that uke deserves respect and to be treated with love #Uke was raped and in abusive relationship #Suicide attempt at end by uke's ex #Protective seme #Insecure uke #Tough seme and uke #Police force #Detective Also, gdi, the smut here is good. The relationship between Uke and Seme are good. The portrayal, plot, and characterization is good. Ex-partner guy saying "I love you" & "Can you compensate me for the crime of making me live?" were MEMORABLE. Also, the fact that Seme has a bullet wound on abdomen from saving Uke & then later, Uke gets bullet wound on thigh from saving Seme...that was gahdang poetic. :') The only thing I don't quite get was how Seme ended up getting his shame-and-humiliation kink. I think Uke's partner was the 'friend' that guy in chp 3 talked about, where the rape of Uke was alluded to. So he took advantage of Uke's sex addiction to start abusive relationship.

ROUGE (KATSURA Komachi)

#Uke can feel again #Seme made uke feel things #Uke has god-worship for his hero #But genuine love and desire to spend his life with Seme #Uke felt safe and saved in his hero's arms #Uke felt loved and wanted in seme's arms #Seme gay for uke #Tho seme strikes me as gynesexual rather than hetero or demi Okay but the gahdang representation of a scarred uke and respectful seme. I was literally hooked the moment seme, without hesitating, scolded his friends for gossiping about tragedies such as uke being raped and passed around like an object. There wasn't anything like "oh yeah that was rape" but then stopping there and passing around more stories regarding the rape. It was just "Yeah that's rape, that's disgusting, why the hell are you passing that story". And the Seme does this TWICE. Two other things: 1) The way Uke CRIED when he told his hero for the last time he could follow him into the yakuza world. Every time before that, Uke was stoic and said it because he had nothing else in his life. But that last time, he was crying and IN PAIN because he finally had a reason to stop following his hero into the grave. 2) The utter respect and adoration Seme shows Uke. Despite Uke being clearly inexperienced, Seme couldn't care less if Uke gave blow jobs or was better at sex than his exes. What he cared about most was the Uke himself. sjg;oerjgoi;ejgio;rejg But one last thing I want to talk about: the Hero that Uke worshiped as a god, Yamato. Hero-dude wanted Uke to find his way. "Graduate high school. Eat a good meal everyday. Sleep at night and wake up in the morning. Don't become a yakuza." Honestly, that sounds like something a god would say. A god who would never be able to understand the life Uke would live, but knows that that is the life Uke should live--so when the chance arises for Uke to choose that life, he gently pushes Uke towards that life. It was heart-jerking.

#Neglectful father #Absentee father as a plot device lol #Because if father stayed at home the story would fall apart #As main conflict in this story would disappear #Uke was lover to father's dead brother #Uke is 10y older than seme #Misunderstandings #No one talks anymore~ du du du #Grief/Loss #Stalker assaults uke #Dubcon #Perceived cheating #Son thinks he stole father's lover so that's hilarious Okay well this was interesting. I like the general premise of a child growing up into a young man and wanting to be with the one who took care of him. Those ones are always a ride and it leads to guilt and shame on the caretaker's end, which is fun to see them work through--with, of course, the persistence of the younger one. It was a little bit different because Uke never saw himself as a parent figure to Seme, but there was the whole tension of not wanting to ruin Seme's life and to protect him.

Doggerel

Complete | TENZEN Momoko | 2012 released

#Underage sex #Minor/Minor #Highschool romance #Uke tutors Seme #Life is full of bullshit #Seme comes off as bi #Uke comes off as gay #Put them together and you get young looove #Uke's guardian does have some inappropriate feelings for Uke #But that's put to rest #Seme and Uke have misunderstandings but they're understandable #They work through it eventually This story beautifully portrays the truth that "Everyone has their own story". Uke's mother abandoned him, his father died, and the father's lover who is raising him is also dealing w/the loss. Seme's family had to run away from loan sharks after loaning money to Seme's ex-girlfriend, which makes it incredibly difficult for Seme to stay in school. Even the girlfriend here, who is so easy to vilify and definitely did something terrible, had her reason for doing things that made me genuinely wish the best for her character. The way the characters work through each problem, one after the other, together and apart, was just...yes, lol. Seme was just kind of drifting through life, but when Uke's safety was threatened by loan sharks, that was when he decided to take action about his family's debt--and that kills me. Uke had an unhealthy reaction to Seme needing to leave and put the debt to rest, but after all the losses he suffered as a child, it's not surprising. And their REUNION. OH GOD THEIR REUNION. YESSSSSS.

#Supernatural #Fantasy #Some era in japan #Ostracization #Mother and uke is driven out of village #Uke can hear thoughts through touch #Seme can move things with his mind during strong emotions #Age difference #Kind loving uke #Respectful charming seme #Cute uke #Hot seme #Insecure uke #Low-key possessive seme #Uke has doggo companion #I would die for doggo companion Okay but I loooooooove this manga. It's short, but it's era-based and has supernatural elements to it. Since the Uke and Seme both have powers, they've been treated as outsiders but grew up with different mindsets. Their powers are actually rather fitting with their personalities. Uke can read people's hearts, so he grew up empathetic and putting others before himself. Seme can move things w/his mind so he can be a force of nature that gives shit rather than takes shit. What I really love is the way they ended up falling for each other. It was like a natural course of events, like the universe (author-san) made sure they would be in each other's paths so that they could end up walking a new path together. I especially love the peek we had into their new life together. It was a short scene where Seme lamented over Uke's seeming lack of jealousy and Uke lamented over how he's not "good enough" for Seme. Cliche? Yes. This bitch loves the classics. xD

Lovers Doll

Complete | Mishima Kazuhiko | 2008 released

#Supernatural #Fantasy #Doll seme #Human uke #Cute seme #Tsundere uke #Uke falls in love w/doll at first sight #Objectophilic uke #Seme just wants to be loved #Seme was thrown away by owners time and time again #People feared seme cuz he's a doll w/a soul #Uke is the only one who still loved seme #Even after finding out he isn't inanimate #Despite being scared and disturbed himself #Seme never lost ability to move or speak Okay...okay. Okay. So this story does lack some things, which is inevitable when it's 6 chapters. I really do wish I could've seen what Kazuhiko-san would've done w/this story had they been able to continue for, say...20 chapters. But what they /do/ accomplish in 6 chapters made me fkkn legit shed at least two tears. Kazuhiko-san splendidly delivered the plot of a doll coming to life, along with the tragedies that come along with it. There were several moments here that made my chest ache and it's pretty much impossible to narrow my favorite scene down to just one moment. But I will say that the reason why I cried was in chp 2 when Seme found out he was capable of crying. I can't imagine what it's like to become alive due to the "love" of his owner, only for him to immediately become lifeless the moment he's no longer just a doll--then to be thrown away and have this cycle repeated until Uke finally came along. Then the second time I cried was in chapter 3, when Seme learns what jealousy is for the first time. It is an ugly emotion that can bring out the worst in people, so when Seme learns it for the first time, he thought that "Oh, I truly am a monster." Like what Uke said, 'This is his first time learning 'evil'. And it's scary. But it's proof that even though he's a doll, he has more than enough humanity to be a person as well.

#Dacryphilia #Seme comes onto uke because of his tears #So dubcon is there #But uke consents to sleeping with seme #So no rape yayayayayyyy #Uke was cheated on by his ex #Ex was also very pushy in wanting to get back with uke #Pretty sure uke and ex had abusive and/or toxic relationship #Also please do not do what uke does and follow a stranger home xD #Uke be glad that it was seme jfcljf;ejf Oh. Oh wow. Just. Wow. I'm not expert nor do I have any experience with it, but I feel like this is a great representation of people who experience sexual addictions. The way Seme's guilt and shame permeated in every aspect of his person's life, which lead to isolation, was freaking heartbreaking. It showed just how much he was in need of someone who made him feel human, but there was no one there to help him deal with it. There was no one there with whom he could be truthful and that just worsened his feelings of ostracization. What really killed me was how wholly Uke accepted Seme. I was just. He understood that there was some physiological reaction to Seme's dacryphilia and, in the context of their relationship, even came to love Seme's love for tears. For Uke, it was like a representation of what brought them together and he felt at home whenever Seme licked away his tears. This full-hearted acceptance is what helped Seme differentiate between the sexual arousal for Uke's tears and the genuine love he felt for Uke, tears included. This was really great to read. :')
