Even though they're 'fated' partners, the attraction is so strong and so automatic that it does seem like the fire could simply become smoke with enough wind. So the fear of losing that love and not having the other in their life is real. So I do like that, even if it doesn't make sense--at first glance, at least--they're still insecure about their relationship. Because, really, there is more reason to be insecure in a passionate relationship like that rather than one where the feelings grew and adjusted over time.

Also, the fact that Seme has a bullet wound on abdomen from saving Uke & then later, Uke gets bullet wound on thigh from saving Seme...that was gahdang poetic. :') The only thing I don't quite get was how Seme ended up getting his shame-and-humiliation kink. I think Uke's partner was the 'friend' that guy in chp 3 talked about, where the rape of Uke was alluded to. So he took advantage of Uke's sex addiction to start abusive relationship.

What I really loved is how Seme's love and respect for Uke really shone through...save for that noncon BJ *glares at Seme*. BUT Seme could've...you know...COMMUNICATED w/Uke as to why he wanted to wait. But communication makes things all too easy. xD

Author-san used their art brilliantly in vol 2, maximizing certain scenes so that the impact would be felt as if you were watching the characters act on a screen. Plus, the peak of the conflict was much more believable this time around. There was mention of how the antagonist's actions were exacerbated by an sexual assault he experienced, but...I mean, it was still better the gimmicky vol 1 peak-conflict. But my main issue with vol 1 was how the rape and sexual assault were handled. Author-san continuously used it as catalysts for the Uke and Seme. I'll give props to author-san for actually using the word "rape" rather than hiding it under softer terms, but still. v1c5 was the worst because the Seme actually did rape Uke, then they made it okay by having the Uke go "welp as long as it's you Seme-san" and I face-palmed lol. It made Uke more of a caricature rather than a character, so. It was just disappointing because this was a good read, but it could've been so much better if author-san used other methods. But either way, again, vol 2 was good.

They have a lot of super cute moments that made me helpless to their whim. Not a good representation of a real-life couple, but in a fictional world, it's nice to sit back with some milk tea, mille-crepe vanilla, and smile over their antics. Probably one of the best way to encapsulate their relationship is to share an excerpt from the manga. Seme, uncharacteristically, thinks to himself how he could turn into a frog and he fully believes that Uke would love him all the same--which makes him love Uke even more out of gratitude. Then Uke responds by asking, "Why can't we both be frogs and live out our lives together as frogs?" And, somehow, Seme falls even harder in love with Uke because gahdang, that adorable response.

It was a little bit different because Uke never saw himself as a parent figure to Seme, but there was the whole tension of not wanting to ruin Seme's life and to protect him.

Uke was assertive in his own way, but his younger age is reflected in his hesitance. But when Seme gives him the chance, with this easygoing flow that encourages Uke rather than pressures him, Uke goes for it. As with slice of life, I don't have much to say, but that doesn't mean this story is uninteresting or unimpressive in any way. It's a gahdang rare-ass gem in the BL world.
