If someone is trans they ARE the gender they [feel they] are. Nono was a girl, who was assigned male at birth [dmab]. The regular misgendering by all the characters [post her coming out] kinda irked me. Also they never specified what surgery she had, there's more than one. At one point they treat bisexuality like it's a gender identity, which it's not. Your gender is who you go to bed as, sexuality is who you go to bed with. Kinda wish the author [or if it was mixed up in translation, the translator] tackled the subject better?? I feel like this was written from a very outside perspective on what being transgender is really like. Besides those few points that irked me, it was an overall pretty good story. The plot was interesting enough. It's kinda the same narrative I see with most stories featuring a trans character, but it was done well enough for me to like it alright. I liked how it switched between the past the present [with Nao narrating the past]. To be honest though, I skimmed some chapters just cause the way the author tackled the topic bothered me.
