During the zombie apocalypse Lou is placed in a compound by his father, to research and find a cure for the zombie virus. Lou is protected by Caleb, who had been his fathers servant for many years. As a child Lou saw his father have sex with Caleb, and Lou promised himself that he wasn’t going to be like his father. Meanwhile outside the compound are Jack, Miron and Miron’s little sister Michelle. Jack and Miron go around killing uninfected people and taking their food and supplies. Michelle is kept in a house and although she’s aware that it’s dangerous outside, her brother has not explained the zombie situation or magnitude of the danger. Michelle causes her brother and Jack to cross paths with Lou and Caleb. My brain is a bit fuzzy after reading this. It was primarily about the relationships between the characters and not a lot of zombie slaughtering like I expected. I’m always curious, when the reviews all over the place. This story didn’t disappoint. It was interesting, intense, and while it’s marked as a tragedy, I felt the ending was shocking leaving me numb. I would have enjoyed more sex scenes, but the story did have unique sex scenes that I have never seen before (and I regard myself as an expert when it comes to smut).
