Somehow I Raised A Prince
15 Chapters in Review (Spoilers ahead) Basically, Adele is a 16 y/o orphan who lives with her aunt. Her aunt and her family are abusive; her aunt physically hits her and makes her do all the housework because her husband is a gambler and she is a bitter lady. After her aunt kicks her out for the evening, Adele finds shelter in some cave and finds a huge egg. She wraps the egg in blankets and says, “I’ll be your mother!” When she wakes up, the egg is hatched. It’s a child with wings that is rapidly growing. It comes out toddler size with the ability to repeat words. After 10 days, it can speak and understand concepts. Adele has been secretly taking care of him. Turns out the child is a dragon who founded and ruled the empire. The one it imprints on has both political and magical powers. There is a Duke who is after the child because he doesn’t want to lose his position, but he dies soon after he attacks the kid. I thought the two ML are the Baron guy and the wizard. But after the kid temporarily changes into an adult and implies it’s been waiting 300 years for Adele, it becomes apparent that he’s endgame. He’s also very possessive and Adele is dumb. She has some magic powers that were discovered by the Baron, but she’s not smart or just remotely useful. It’ll be boring to watch her in the future but I can justify her shortcomings because she lived in an abusive household and is only 16. But still, I don’t like the story. Dropped.
