Okay so like.... I like. The first couple. They were pretty quirky and cute (but def more quirky lol). They had a super romcom anime vibe to them as opposed to a BL vibe. Had this BL ended with the first couple, I was considering at some point during the first couple’s part labeling this as an honorable mention. HOWEVER, I am NOT a fan of the second couple at all! I labeled this as “f’ed up” because of the second couple. But like, it’s not like they’re actually super duper messed up like most of the other things I give that label. Just messed up enough for me not to like it though. The seme upset me greatly and had all kinds of rapey non-consensual vibes about him. And I don’t mean that in the way where BL seme’s are often like “you haven’t given me consent but you definitely seem to be enjoying this so I’m going to continue”, but more in a “you haven’t given me consent and you don’t really seem to be enjoying this but I don’t care because ‘i kNoW yOu LoVe mE’, so I’m going to keep on doing these things you seem not to like”. It’s like... ewww dude. Also the way he thought he should first let the Ike know of his feelings for him by randomly staying over at his house and trying to rape him in the middle of the night as he slept? What the literal fuck :/. That shit is not what it do. So anyway yeah, first couple was nice, but the majority of this BL. Is made up of second couple and they SUCK

Okay, so look: I don’t ever really do this, but I have to do it this time. I will not be finishing this work. When I tell you it’s taken me YEARS to try and finish this, I am not joking. And no, I don’t mean “I was reading while it was coming out and it just took years for the author to finish the story”. Nahhhh, I mean by the time I started reading it, it was already 100% complete, so it should have been an easy binge, right? Wrong, lol. Damn this was boring . Like, man. Idk how it was as bad as it was. It really shouldn’t have been. Here’s the thing, the duchess is only supposed to have 50 tea recipes…. But the number of chapters in the story? Like, 150. And that would be okay, if the story had a plot that existed beyond tea. But it…. didn’t really. This shit really was just about tea and I guess her romance with her husband. Don’t get me wrong, I thought the tea stuff was quite interesting at first. It felt super fresh. But the author started really dragging it after about 40 chapters in. The romance with the husband? Yeah, I legit never cared for it. He’s falling in love with her because she is an actual human being as opposed to the original person in MC’s body who was just….? A waffer cookie? Lol, idk anyway yeah no, I won’t be finishing this. I tried time and time again, but just couldn’t do it. I was only ever able to get about halfway through and finally today, over a full year since I started trying to grind my way through it, I can admit I am giving up. Kudos to whoever enjoyed this enough for it to still somehow have a 9.4 rating!

Dropped this right after reading the first chapter of season 2. In the chapter before that it was made clear the love interest the MC will end up with is irredeemable trash who would rather have the MC broken than to not have him at all. And S2 starts off with us finding out this man also killed the MC’s father? lol, yeah I’m good. Ima head on out… When the girls said this was just gore/trauma porn they weren’t kidding….
