Listen Attentively

A pianist gets transported to the past after getting yelled at by his father for not being good enough, only to meet a young violinist who's being scolded by his father for lack of emotion in his playing. Only then does the pianist realize he's in the presence of the legendary genius musician that his father had wanted him to emulate. The art is good, the panelling is great, especially in the prologue. The two male characters aren't that annoying but not too distinctive yet, and I think it's a realistic type of reaction after such a strange encounter. Looking forward to more.

The art for this is really good, it reminds me of Eastern Palace Prisoner, which I just read before reading this one, because of the character designs. The passive lead wears white, while the dominant lead wears black. The art is much better in this than in Eastern Palace Prisoner, and it's slightly easier to tell who is who, but still not that much. Unfortunately, the paneling and pacing of the story is crazy bad, so it's difficult to tell what is going on. Chinese names are thrown left and right, without much explanation, making it super difficult to follow. Sigh, yet another poorly written historical ancient China BL. Still haven't found a good one yet... Maybe it'll get better later. The author needs to slow down so readers can breathe. I don't really care for either of the male lead characters. This is better than Eastern Palace Prisoner in every way though.

Unsound Relationship

I don't like this webtoon because it's so nonsensical and inaccurate in terms of detective work. Also, it seems to contradict itself with the prologue. Apparently, the two main characters knew each other from police academy days and were close, but in the next chapter which takes place two years ago, before the incident that caused the blue haired man to be dead eyed and wheelchair bound, when they meet for the first time, they don't know each other. Which is it? You can't be both strangers and police academy rivals at the same time like that. Unless you're going to make both of them have amnesia about their police academy days, which is so lame. It's just basically full of bad tropes at this point. Anyway, I don't know if it's the translation, or if the original text is wrong, but OCD doesn't equate to germaphobe, because you can have one without the other, or both, but it seems the text is saying he's just a germaphobe with implied agoraphobia. He doesn't show any signs of OCD at all. I even doubt he's actually a germaphobe, because he just unnecessarily tore off a dirty business card which was thrown on the ground with his teeth, when he could just have used his fingers to do it like a normal person. Ugh. What was the author thinking? It's not even sexy to do that. And the police chief just outright lied and broke into the other guy's apartment with a hammer, which is classic breaking and entering. He should arrest himself. The so-called psychic detective isn't psychic at all, he's just using observation like a normal detective should be doing, and deducing things based on his knowledge. It's impossible to put a microphone in something as flimsy as a card without someone noticing there's something wrong with the card. The list goes on and on with why this webtoon is terrible. It's clear that the author just wanted to write BL with a detective theme but didn't bother doing research or putting thought into it for the execution. Like why do they have rose-gold handcuffs...? The art is the only reason I gave it a higher rating. Although it's not the best art I've seen, it's slightly above average for a webtoon. Both of the main characters piss me off, and they're extremely unlikeable.

Pretty mediocre BL, but it doesn't dive straight into shameless smut after the steamy opening scene, which is good. It allows some development of the characters at the very least. It's implausible that two CEOs would fall for some plain average-looking dude like the male lead though, since he has absolutely no stand out qualities. Art is decent.

Trash BL. It has lots of boring smut in nearly every chapter, with weak plot and character development, if any even exist. I can't even suspend my disbelief at the fact that the male CEO was able to whore his way to the top magically as if all other CEOs of big companies were gay, because they're not, at least in the real world. He's not even beautiful nor handsome, so I can't even pretend that straight guys would fall for him. And honestly, sleeping with the top people to make deals is a ridiculous practice, since you don't just do good business like that. Also, there's no freaking way that he hasn't been found out by someone over the past couple of years that he's been doing this. There's paparazzi and random people that can put two and two together. In real life, people have been completely destroyed with a single incident, much less this guy who's basically sleeping with everyone left and right several times a day. Then the author decides to bring him down in the end with a sex scandal. Really? Like no one ever blackmailed this CEO before? Hard to believe. The male lead who's trying to get revenge and claw his way up is completely unsympathetic as a character, and I didn't care whether he lost or won his fight. He won, if you just want to know the end, by releasing the details of the CEO's sexual history and drug use to his business partners... How uncreative, and anyone could have done so. Even the secretary character could do it easily, if he had hated his boss. There's nothing memorable about any of the characters at all, and all their motivations are so flat and boring. Art is not my cup of tea at all, it's far too rough and not aesthetically pleasing to look at. Skip!

The priest is kidnapped by one of his followers, who turns out to be in some weird religious sex cult, where they all rape the poor priest for a strange ceremony that is not made clear what it's for. I appreciate the uncensoring, but some of it looks lazy and sloppily done, unfortunately. So far, it hasn't really stood out in terms of storytelling or art, so it's in the bargain BL bin for now. This doesn't impress me currently at the moment. I think it's supposed to be dark, but it has failed to meet my expectations.

I don't know why people tagged this "Omegaverse" because it's not. Just because there's Mpreg in it, doesn't make it Omegaverse... So the male lead is pregnant, but he doesn't remember who he slept with, but according to the rules of this world, only imperial male family members can impregnate other guys, so that eliminates most of the suspects. He goes to a masquerade ball to see if he can figure out who the father of the baby is. I'm not really buying that masquerade ball thing, because it's clear that everyone knows who everyone is, despite wearing a mask. Seriously, what's the point of a masquerade ball if wearing a mask doesn't hide your identity at all? Might as well make it a regular ball. The amount of characters is pretty large for just only 5 chapters released, and no one really has been properly introduced, so I think this is bad storytelling on the author's part. Readers need to be able to digest everything and process who is who, and what their relationships are to each other. I don't even know why the purpled eyed man hates the man lead so much, and vice versa. Why is he asking help from him for his serial killer investigation? Why is he being so weird, and the male lead just accepts this behavior? I do like the art though, I think the author did a good job drawing the characters in an aesthetically pleasing way, even if the art doesn't completely blow me away, it's above average, I would say.

Dangerous Convenience Store

The prologue seems to be hinting at a comedic relationship between the convenience store clerk and his gangster boss customer. Giving it 2 stars for now, since it doesn't quite pull me in, but there's nothing to find faults with yet. The art is alright, clean and easy to read. Update: New chapters are progressing too fast, and it skips straight to smut instead of developing proper romance. The first smut scene is blah, just the gangster guy has a big thing, since that's all it focuses on in the previous chapters, with him buying XXL condoms. Sigh. Lameeeeeeee.

It's Not Like That (Gangto)

The BL author tries to get a job, due to pressure from his parents, but he accidentally submits a draft of his novel instead of a cover letter. It's not that bad, since his draft didn't have any smut material anyway. The CEO reads it and thinks it's a love letter because the male lead is pining for someone, and he's intrigued because he's never loved anyone before. The head of the team is also interested in the male lead because he's a fan of the author. From the excerpt of what he submitted, he honestly seems like an awful writer, so I don't know why apparently all of Korea is in love with his novel. If that counts for good writing, maybe that's why the story of this webtoon is crap. It makes no sense for the CEO of a successful company to be interested in an incompetent person like the male lead, because he doesn't stand out at all. All the characters are one-note and bland, and they're all stupid. Art is average level for a webtoon.

Sentimental Lovers

Ongoing | Yeonu | 2000 released
2020-11-10 04:44 marked

I dislike this webtoon, it's really mediocre, and you can tell immediately from how it just launches in the first chapter without proper introduction of the characters. It tries to resolve things by flashbacking in the third chapter, which boggles my mind why the author wants to tell this basically zero plot story with non-linear progression. Basically the meek guy likes the strong male model guy, and he lets him use him as a living onahole as much as he wants, until he's upset because he fell too hard for him, thinking his feelings won't be reciprocated. And there's some other guy who's a tsundere to the meek guy, but he's probably in love with him in reality, and afraid to confess, too. Also, the art is really not my style, it looks too vivid with the neon colors. Like all the characters have jaundice, with their yellow eyeballs...and yellow pupils...pink hair... Lame. Skip!
