I know many wouldn't like the way things goes around in this manga but it's literally very mature , I just can't believe author has made such type of plot way back in 90s and it literally has over 14 chp , I mean it's not straight up fairy tale tht one guy is playin girl role and other one boy role both of them switches as they wanted .
And about "desire "and "love" thing they literally the way they distinguished both words i thought if u love someone u desire them but both seems different here and at the end these two words became one it's mixed in mu opinion story left bittersweet feeling .
Its fucked up too but I liked it but still wanna say Yamazaki is very annoying to the point I started to lose my temper , first raped his girl and now he raped by him ei chan , I mean whole situation seemed kinda fucked up to me but it's okay .
Wow i never knew yamazaki thinks like me, it was quite satisfying when he started hurting fujio's feelings bcuz of fujio's actions and hurtful words. I know i need to get myself fixed but it's just how i am, so whenever i see fujio acting up, it was quite reasonable, understandable, and i really relate to him.
Honestly the last chapter should’ve been at the beginning or in between. Chapter 13 left a sweet and lighthearted ending but then Yamazaki’s past and rape scene literally left a bitter feeling at the end.
I know this manga was published earlier (1996) than both (2006 & 2014). The vibe it gives me is like a mixture of Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese (+its sequel) and 40x40 Chikuwa Kaigi. But in this manga all the relationships are kinda open relationship. The female characters know whom their boyfriends fucc and the main male characters have feeling for each other yet they're dating a woman. It's a huge mess.
It wants to portray the difference between 恋 (koi) and 愛 (ai). This web simply explains the difference of those kanjis: thoughtco.com/japanese-words-for-love-2028042 and here we have another insight from our fellow reader about koi & ai http://www.mangago.me/home/mangatopic/1092951/
There's a funny aspect in this manga. You can see physically and a bit of psychologically Reiko resembles Fujio (Ei) meanwhile Miku resembles Yamazaki (Ken). Those with lighter hair have more twisted personality compared the darker haired. And both Fujio and Reiko are more firm with their decision compared to Yamazaki and Miku in vol. 2—3.
If you want to understand this manga better, you can read those two I mentioned above. Or you can try read chapter 14 first since it was placed 5 years before the time line. And if you want to be healed from this kind of messy relationship please go to Rutta to Kodama (lighter mood) or Yuki to Matsu (heavier mood).
I know love is complicated, but that doesn't mean u had to have such fucked up relationships... Gosh they're annoying
The first time I read it a few years ago I didn't understand and thought it was trying to be deep. The second time I read it I thought it was deep and meaningful. This time I read it and think they're all just frustrating and messy.
the people on here complaining abt this story are WAY too young to read this... i usually don’t like to say this, but unless your extremely mature for your age, you won’t fully understand the complexity of this story, which is the very point that brings this story so high on my list. love ain’t always easy. and can i get some love for the non-bierasure in this story!??
i understood it but had to skip to the last chapter to see what happened.she is so pretentious in her writing and acts like theres deeper meaning to everything you say or do.it only leads to them going around in circles and trying to philosophize their feelings rather than accepting them.all that angst and drama to have them end up 14 chapters later where they started.her writing leaves me discontented.i wonder if shes ever come back to writing
100% agree... Life is not a linear path from love at first sight straight to happily ever after. It's a giant messy disaster, and people fall into and out of your life, and sometimes you end up sleeping with your best friend's ex-boyfriend in the back seat of a Geo Prism or hooking up with that best friend at that exact same party. And sometimes people are too scared to admit how they feel, sometimes even for years.
This was like a 90's sitcom... I mean it was ok, but the plot was all over the place the only thing that saved it for me was the actual manga art because I love pre computer 80's and 90's manga for but I mean it was too dramatic, at times confusing and a bit angst and twisted.. but in the end everyone seems happy

Oh it's seeing yamazaki acting up, not fujio. I mixed up their names
Yamazaki kinda annoying but sometimes seems reasonable like there's man pride comes.

The title 恋が僕等を許す範囲 can be translated as: The Extent to which Love Allows Us. Love here is 恋 (koi) aka the major theme for this manga.
fuck that was so fucked up in the best way it was too real the more i think i hate this the more i know i love it
This story was so frustrating because it’s so real and I loved it.
