If you are someone who, could stomach twisted romance, then this might be an adequate read for you. I’ll say this, I won’t ever read this again. But, one thing I have to applaud is that, if you look at it from a twisted point of view, Zerkin is a great manipulator and cunning genius . He made sure to break Sovie down until he “surrendered” himself to him.

He’s also super attuned to Jae’s feelings as the moment where he was like “is he in a bad mood”, like he’s so observant of him. Like girl, can he be any more obvious than a high schooler in love?

We’ve had a scene where we find out that the top has a type (I’m not sure why the author did that, but okay). Based on what happened, the top’s type is the bottom and his father because they look alike (only difference is in the aging).

Is it wrong to have a type? No. But it does beg for curiosity whether our bottom is a replacement for his sexual fantasy or he’s truly in love with him.

Now, we had our bottom blushing for the top’s dad, which paralleled to the top blushing and masturbating to the bottom’s father.

Now, the line between the two is blurred. They’ve crossed from being normal friends. The bottom had sex with the top knowing he’s got feelings for him, and the top still doesn’t know whether the bottom feels the same.

In this chapter, even if he doesn’t have a sense of obligation, but he betrays the top’s feelings by searching for another guy instead of talking it out with him.

I think, the top had sexual fantasies of his father’s fancy, however it wasn’t love. He came to develop feelings for the bottom. And as of now, ever since the masturbation episode, he hasn’t acted out to betray his feelings which could give the bottom mixed signals.

What the bottom is doing is clearly giving mixed signals towards the top. Like, he clearly knows how the other feel and they fucked, yet he’s searching for another guy to get down with.

Put yourself in a situation where, you confessed to your crush and in the heat of the moment, you guys have sex. Next day, you find out they’re making out with someone else. How would you feel?

For me, the masturbation scene wasn’t a big deal because it was an act of one person. He wasn’t going to snatch his father’s partner and kissed him. If he did it after he confessed, then that would be more fucked up.

The clash here seems to be one person might be replacing his forbidden sexual fantasy with his newfound crush versus one person trying to replace his current acquaintance who he’s intimate with and been confessed to, actually going to find new people.

True that they’re both single and it depends on morality but the bottom has stuff to answer for after getting confessed and had sex. I know a counter argument could be made that it’s just sex with no strings attached, but this wasn’t the case as they both didn’t approach each other with that in mind. One clearly has feelings, so sex friends is out of the equation.
