It's most likely going to stay updating once a month due to the fact that Yana Toboso also works on twisted wonderland. I know she's in charge of character design but I also think she oversees the jp script and storylines

The comic is actually promo for the game I believe! I can't really say which is more popular, but twisted wonderland (game) is backed by both Disney and Aniplex, so I'm assuming it makes bank revenue wise, meaning Yana is presumably getting paid quite well, especially considering she drew all the character sprites, every background, every card, as well as most (if not all) of the dialogue in the game even down to most miniscule of passing comments within the home screen and what not. As far as I know, apart from coding, almost everything in twst has been done by Yana herself! I find it really incredible that she hasn't dropped Black Butler yet if I'm being quite honest (as much as this would crush my soul haha). If you're into gacha games you should totally give it a try!
