I feel as tho they kinda glossed over this part a bit as compared to the novel. Cause in the novel she's like yall are weaker without him, he made it so that you can hit targets a bit easier and got slight debuffs so your runs are easier and thats probs why youre in the top 5.
Now i may be rememebering wrong here cause its been a while since i read this scene but she was more or less voicing how Lem was usefull to the party more and the asshole swordsman was more angry about Lem being anything more than a useless party memeber

Yeah it feels lacking. The scene was not properly adapted from the novel. I know manga changes some scenes but not to this degree that they lessen the impact of a very important change in the mindset of the team. （￣へ￣）
