binged this since 1 am and now im writing through tears, rogi will never be forgiven for what he did to tatsuyuki but dear god i didn’t expect his life to be that shit, it felt like every single volume had him being rap*d it was crazy all in all, it is a yakuza story so the characters being shitty people/morally grey isnt a surprise, and tora at the last chapter rlly sums up basically all the characters here, “we forgive when we want to and we k*ll when we want to, we all have a screw loose or three.” plus the resolution (though short) was satisfying for me personally, i loved that they just talked during the last chapter and even their separation wasn’t in bad terms (it made me sob like crazy though). loved this story, every single character made me cry and i’m definitely rereading when i have a massive need to cry and also thirst over old man yaoi
First comment with some sense! I'm so tired of ppl crying about the "cheating". Asami knew about Uichi and Akitora never hid enything from her, so how is that cheating? She knew and stayed, it was her decision. She knew Akitora was not someone who could be tied down and trying to do so would have turned in him hating Asami. She didn't want that, she loved him and (as Scarlet Beriko said) accepted him, even though she didn't understand him or empathise with his actions. That is NOT cheating. Cheating is going behind your partner, hiding, lying, etc. Akitora was transparent.
Life is not black and white. There usually are no 100% good or bad ppl. Everyone is a shade of gray. And feelings are messy and confusing. Sensei captures that in her works amazingly. The chaos Asami felt towards Uichi feels so real. I love that. And the way Akitora feels about Asami and Uichi, loving both of them but in two different ways also feels very realistic. Uichi, so confused by ppl, by their feelings, so strange to him he doesn't understand..... Chef's kiss.
