Its hard to root for Ines in this story. In the beginning i loved her and hated carcel because i cant stand cheating and when i discovered he was the male lead i had dropped it but decided to continue reading. While i sympathize with Ines and her situation as her past timelines were very fucked up, she essentially threw all the responsibility on Carcel and is upset with how he responds to it in the present.
In this life she completely changes Carcels life by making him her fiance and then just shutting him out? Gives no reasoning and so she leaves him confused for his life and so he copes by cheating on her. I mean image being forced into a marriage yet getting nothing out of it. While in his eyes she was just a child, she was a grown woman and knew what she was doing. Then when he decides to be loyal shes upset and wants to force him to cheat!
You decided this marriage and should have thought it through more if u weren't ok with the other party having free will! Then when she thinks he finally cheated, she has the nerve to be upset over it.
Im glad the storys at the point where she's finally accepting her feelings over him cuz my god idk if i could have lasted reading more if she didnt yet

Inés didn't shut him out on purpose, she was dealing with the trauma of her previous life. there's literally a whole story arc about that, idk how you missed that...and in the end even Cárcel understands the misunderstanding that happened there even if it was explained to him by saying it's a mysterious illness when Inés was clearly suffering from PTSD. Also, Cárcel was the one that started cheating so Inés wasn't entirely wrong about that plan since she didn't expect him to love her, Inés is a woman who had to experience for multiple lifetimes how her life literally only depends on the men in her life, the goal of her plan is to have a child and get divorced so she can finally live a life for herself and not depend on men because they've been the origin of her demise in.every.life. Also, they are nobles, loveless marriages were the norm...i don't know why you expected Inés to love him, with the Crown Prince out of the question Cárcel was the next best option for Inés in regards of status, and Inés is the best marriage option for Cárcel since she had an status so high that she was given the freedom to chose between the two, and they obviously gain a lot politically and socially with that union so...

I’m not sure what story you’re reading because Inés did shut him out PREMEDITATEDLY. She plotted divorce for 17 Years. Did you read that? She plotted divorce for 17 whole years. She spoke to lawyers to divorce Cárcel at the MERE age of 12 years old. So while Cárcel at 12 years old is growing like any other noble kid, taking succession lessons, learning his duties and doing normal things that 12 year olds do, Inés was chatting with lawyers on her estate to divorce him when they weren’t even married yet.

Furthermore, Inés persuaded herself for 10 whole years that her past lives were just a dream. The arc that you’re talking about is when she got struck with an onslaught of memories that tormented her between the ages of 16 - 20 years old. Outside of that time period, Ines lived plotting against Cárcel in thorough details. From her black dresses, boring hairstyles, ugly rumors, etc., she orchestrated the whole thing to ensure that young Cárcel doesn’t take an interest in her and that he feels so pressured by her that he would seek refuge elsewhere. That’s the initial stage of the plan she constructed to encourage him to cheat before and AFTER marriage.

Please stop saying that Inés thinks her life literally depends on a man as though she didn’t make choices of her own volition. If you look at her choices, she voluntarily chooses to live her life with a man. She only complains about it in this final lifetime because she chose two men before and they all led to tragedy in one way or another. The previous life when she ran away with a man, there was absolutely no reason at all to do so. She could’ve ran away with Juana, her maid, who probably would have been more resourceful to her since her maid is a very courageous and resourceful woman. However, she didn’t do that. Instead she decided to run away with a stranger that she knew literally for only ten days. It seems to me that she can’t or doesn’t want to live without a man. That was the perfect timeline to show that she could live without a man but she didn’t do that.

Inés’s goal in this final life is to live by herself without making any mistakes so she can die properly and stop the regression.

As to loveless marriages, you are correct that nobles engage in these. There is no guarantee that there will be love. However, I think the point of contention here is Ines willfully deceiving Cárcel into marriage when she has other intentions and trying to force him to commit adultery in their marriage.

I literally said I understood and sympathized im saying that it doesnt justify what she did to him. Think of it from his pov without knowledge of what Ines had to go through. Your life gets completely changed because one girl decided she wanted to marry you. Youre under the impression she wants to marry you for a reason like interest or love but completely shuts you out of your life. So now ur stuck in this marriage that seemingly has no reason to happen and essentially have nothing u can do against it because of ur families and the politics behind it. And the other person while giving Carcel nothing also wont take the step forward to end it herself. I'm not saying Ines had to pretend to be in love with him or that she had to show him affection but she could have tried to be honest. Shes smart and has lived multiple lives, if she could construed this plan where her whole life she makes sure everything goes the way she wanted it to go, she can also construct a lie that could give Carcel piece of mind. Imagine Carcel wasnt madly in love with her and stuck in this marriage? The mental turmoil he must of felt growing up? Cuz he was a kid when she made this choice while she was a grown woman. She may have been in a kids body but mentally she was triple his age. Like i said i didnt expect or ask for her to give him all this affection but later on she cant get mad or upset when Carcel acts the way he wants to and that it goes against her plans. If she wants to end the marriage she can. If she knows so much about carcel and how she acts then she would know he would allow her to leave if she wasnt happy and make it seem like it was his choice.

I read it for the art style but every character sucked.
Moa : getting mad at Yura for being horny all the time and doing sexual stuff with her when she was the exact same with him on top of the fact that she knew she had feelings for his older brother yet kept stringing him along. On top of that she blamed everything on him when she was an equally active participant in everything they did.

Yujin: Sleeping with Moa when he was her tutor and she was a minor??? is this not grooming hello? like yeah shes 20+ now but he was her teacher when she was a kid and him well into his college years!! Also the way he was so old yet immature at the same time like hello why are u acting like this at ur grown age bruh

Yura: For allowing Moa to treat him the way she did. She didnt gaf about him at all unless it had to do with satisfying him sexually. she always put Yujin first over everything and didnt even bother to show up to one of his matches. But he was also an idiot for seeing the way she treats him and just letting it happen. like grow a spine. she constantly lied to him and manipulated him by giving him silent treatments over misunderstandings and assumptions she had when they weren't even dating. and she had NO INTENTIONS OF DATING HIM. Like bro how u gonna let urself be treated that way

Anyways this author needs to never ever write again!

Agree with all of this except the grooming. What I can give this author is this is one of very few tutor love interests that I don’t see this!! He kept it Uber professional while tutoring her and seemed really uncomfortable even early on in his feelings because he started as her tutor. They also only have a 6 year age gap…

The grooming part is the power dynamic, it may have been only 6 years but it started when one was a minor and the other was an adult already. Thats weird. She even still refers to him as teacher. Theres power imbalance. While i dont think he should go to jail its still an ick and i could never like a character or root for a relationship like this.
