That's not a really good reason for him to become so obsessive though. Cause like you already said, Penelope did use him BUT eclise knew that from the start aswell.

Anytime I read about Penelope’s and eckles relationship I get so icky. I hate how much he uses him, it’s nice we have his perspectives now that bc does that change what I thought about him a bit. Ik it’s part of the story but her manipulating eckles, I can’t stand it
