I was referring to Dietrich there, obviously... Giving the child to the father isn't "adoption", he's the child's parent too... And if you payed attention you'd see that it was out of Rein's hands since she was ordered to return the imperial blood child to the imperial family

She was then forced to give him to the imperial family, when he would've been better off with Dietrich. That's the father's fault. The father then ignored him for 5 years and didn't facilitate connecting with his son's new surroundings. He has custody, it's his responsibility to make his son happy now
