It's not just being too good for you own, it's the feeling that no matter how drained, beat up and hurt you are by them, you think to yourself that you're bound by blood and there's nothing you could do to erase that. No matter how you want to escape far away, abandon them as they've left a great turmoil within you, the weight of guilt that they're your "family" pins you in place. In the end, you think that even after all that pain you've endured, you're indebted to them. It's mentally and emotionally draining, the inner conflict is just.... Ueeeh.
The part I love about obsessive possessive characters is when they break because their person of interest that they one-sidedly "claim" just like the bastard they are decided to vanish
