Because as far as I know, he thinks that once she has a child with him, she's gonna leave him because she already did her end of the deal(?) because nobles would want an heir, you know? The kanik people can’t have children with people who don’t have kanik blood. However since the kaniks have been in the kingdom for so long practically everyone has Atleast a little bit of the blood in them. The royal family however are the only ones who don’t because they are pure blooded (incest and stuff)
