The writing annoys me in so many ways, but I guess I do appreciate the author showing that sometimes sex can just be unsatisfying, even if it's 100% consensual and not completely unenjoyable. Like she had some okay moments in the process, but in the end even we the readers can tell that That Wasn't It. I'm glad we're all getting iffy vibes from that scene bc I'm sure the author wanted to portray that, the subtle kind of wrongness, and it means we all got the message well.
