Snk has got a huge fandom. With chapter 139, yam pissed those people off who had high expectations of it, and were very much interested in the plot. Others who disliked that chapter were yeagerists and erehisu fans. The only people who kinda liked chap 139 were mostly eremika fans who were waiting for eremika to become canon for like 11 years. With these additional pages yams managed to piss off eremikas and also those who were defending chap 139 with all their might, by making jeankasa canon.
Yams ignored various plot points by making everything about mikasa. Just like how throughout the series, jeankasa was only about Jean's feelings, eremika is only about mikasa's feelings for eren and then in 139 bam!! Eren is as obsessed with mikasa as she is with him. And before that chapter there is little to no development to eremika by Eren's side. Those moments seen by eremika fans as eren's feelings for mikasa can be interpreted in different ways. And then there is jeankasa, she doesn't even show much appreciation to Jean. We didn't even get to know whether she knew that he has feelings for her. And after marrying him she still wears that scarf and visits eren's grave like a picnic spot, it's like reminding jean "hey you are with me only because eren is dead".
Isayama can write a plot-heavy horror mystery manga, but he sucks at writing well-developed romance. I never had any problem with yams female characters. But considering how he ended mikasa and historia's characters, he just proved that men can't write female character. There could've been many ways he could show someone moving on. But his way of moving on is just " find a guy, and have a kid".
Instead he could've wrote a panel of Armin and mikasa visiting eren and talking about how they miss him. Isayama developed eren and armin's really well, so why couldn't he do the same to eren and mikasa's relationship?
I've read this manga for like 10 times in Japanese on pixiv. Every time I look at that kid's expression, I can't stop my tears. Whether the kid had arms or not, the mother doesn't seem to be in a state where she can bring up a child. Society paints this rosy picture of having a child and how it is the biggest blessing in the world. But one should be aware if they really are mentally prepared for it. Humans are not a child bearing machine. They should give it a serious thought whether they really want a child or they are just having kids just because everybody else does. If you really want a child, then you should accept and love that child whether it's a handicapped child or a normal one. I wonder where that woman's husband is. I have a feeing that the husdband doesn't live with them and it's more likely that he left them. That could be the reason why she seems to have her own troubles like working and also taking care of her son. I think the memory of her little son killing himself before her own eyes will keep haunting her for life and I don't think she had anyone besides that kid. That poor child

Romantic relationships are overrated. This comic depicted the depth of platonic Iove beautifully. This comic was well-written, it made me cry so much. The relationship between our two main characters is so sweet and heartwarming ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶.
Chu sangwoo is so relatable. That sunbae is annoying.
Can't believe after all the character development, Reiner did nothing but sniff on historia's letter like a perv . There are many things I liked and disliked about the final chapter. It felt rushed. But I'm glad I read this story. Some chapter were so amazing to read. I genuinely loved it and reread those multiple times. It would make me wonder how can someone write like that.More than anything I loved how isayama showed both sides without any bias. And I loved Zeke, reiner, bertholdt, porco(I know many people dislike him), pieck, colt, falco, gabi as much as I like the survey corps and everyone from 104th. I think Isayama has a lot of potential as a writer.

agreed. he was such a good compelling character, and was reduced to a sniffer, i think he was used to for comedic relief but was handled badly, just like that annie pie scene, lol. I just can’t connect with it anymore
To tell you the truth, I felt so bad for him ever since I got to know how much he was suffering. All this time, i was praying for him to stay alive. But then the last chapter happened and one of the really well-written characters was reduced to a sniffer, and all the things I felt for this character died. Now I feel absolutely nothing for him. Why can historia move on with her life and get pregnant just to save herself, not mentioning Ymir(freckles) even once. And Reiner who doesn't even talk about historia after he went back to his warrrier self, suddenly became a simp in the last chapter even tho 3 years have passed. Was that scene really important? This was the worst way to show that reiner isn't depressed anymore. The last chapter suddenly changed the tone of manga from tragic, serious to a badly written comedy.
Though Isayama sensei wrote so many amazing characters, he couldn't conclude them properly. There are some exceptions like Erwin, Floch and Ymir(freckles), even porco. Other than that he managed to fuck up almost all beautifully written characters like Armin, zeke, Eren, Annie, reiner, jean, hanji. Isn't it funny how a comic relief character like Connie is the only person who is serious in the last chapter and serious character like Jean and reiner were reduced to a comic relief. Yam’s can definitely build a good setting, but got overwhelmed at making the ending. what I also didnt like is how he handled the female characters. the ending seriously killed ymir’s (not the freckled) character, as well as mikasa.
I think with the leaks, the story has changed drastically. this is my speculation alright, but I think kodansha wants to the milk aot dry, with the new ending, a sequel will be made if the leaks were said to be true
I dont know how many times should i preach it but men hardky ever create a realistic fenale character. The only ones ive seen doing it right was in books...only modern books. The only ones that can make both good female and male characters are women period.
I agree with you so much. I think for mikasa, chapter 138 was a good conclusion to her character. She seemed so realstic to me to the point , i coudnt stop my tears. 139 just ruined it by making her look pathetic. Where is breaking free from eren?Just how much her character is going to be about just eren and the scarf? Her character was once again reduced to just "Ereh", in other words, the "wit studio mikasa". I love manga mikasa, she doesn't seem as obsessed as anime mikasa I always wanted her to be separated from eren and choose her own path and know that she deserves to be loved too.
And about ymir, I think eren saying she was in " love" with a rapist, pedo, who cut her tongue and whatnot, really upset me. Instead, the wording should've been "she wanted to be loved".
And what's with 'volume 34 extra pages', the leaks are worrying me.
You know, just when I was having so much hope for the female characters in snk, always wondering why can't other guys make strong, independent female characters like this? And as snk came to an end, I was disappointed with the conclusion of female characters.
A character like hanji died for no big reason. She died so that Armin can become the commander of survey corps and become the hero of the story. In the end mikasa is just about eren and her scarf. Annie got reduced to the armin's girlfriend. Freckled ymir just died and historia conceives a child with an no-name, no-face character just to save herself, she didn't even marry that guy at that time, and now she's living a happy life with him, even married him. Just what was the point of her pregnancy? Why was it treated like such a mystery like it was something important to the plot. Everyone is included in the final chapter except Yelena. And eren said that founder ymir was in "love" with king Fritz. The same guy who raped her and made a slave of her. How can you call this fucked up thing love? And pieck wants to kill eren even goes ahead to blow his head saying" vanish, you nightmare" and in last chapter shed says," I wish I could talk to him more", Like eren didn't kill her comrades and children in liberio. What's with this imao.
In the end, men really suck at writing female characters they just use them for fucked up romance. No matter how badly a guy treated her, she wouldn't stop obsessing over that guy.I agree with you, not all but most women can write both good male and female characters.

I'm glad I found this gem. Loved the pacing and kakeru's monologues were very well written. He seemed so real to me. It made me cry so much. Another thing I liked about this one is the fact that ryo was straight and didnt become gay all of a sudden. Ryo was a good character and a good friend. I enjoyed yudai's sexuality discovery tho. How he wanted to protect ryo so much but then he realised he can't, because ryo is not a kid anymore and the fact that there is zero chance of Ryo loving him back the way he wanted him to. Kakeru is the type of person who doesn't want to burden anyone and takes responsibility for everything even when he is not at fault. He never had someone he could talk to about his feelings. Yudai and ryo were good friends. Thae fact that yudai was genuinely interested in kakeru's painting was so sweet. At first I thought he is just faking it. I'm glad I was wrong about him.
I hope yudai and kakeru will keep each other safe from those who bad mouth them and do not approve of their relationship. My boys deserve so much better. (=・ω・=)
I'm gonna miss The Royal Tutor so much. I absolutely love the bond between the brothers. And I loved every single moment between Ernest and Eins. The bromance is too much for my weak heart. I found it very interesting that even after Eins was crowned a king,he never took a wife. I've never heard of a king not marrying. And I loved that he did something different. Though it was clear that Eins was the most capable of all to be the next king, i loved his decision to reign for a few years. He could've stayed king his whole life, but he decided to give his brothers another chance. I'm quite impressed with his decision to cede throne to Leonhard. I'm so happy for him. Loved the fact that Ern was always there for Eins. I will miss all the five princes and Heine so much. Now that it is marked complete, I'm gonna reread it.
