Also, technically the seme in this story seems to have quite a good body(i dont think he is uke ish, he is more like the puppy type seme). It’s just the uke that is extremely buff.

I totally get your sentiments. However, I must disagree. It may sound cliche when I say that it would more like victim blaming if I agreed. I'm taking into account of Zishu He's personality - gentle, overly kind, patient and insecure about himself. But he was not a pushover (when Wenxu became violent and raped him, he showed his anger the next day. And when Wenxu's lover came over, he decided to leave).

Zishu was already aware of Wenxu's cheating. He chose to be an obedient partner, as is part of his personality. He may have also been testing the latter's love subconsciously - holding on to the promise that Wenxu once vowed. The cheating began before Zishu found out about his illness, and the relationship he was holding on to was breaking heart. The cheating began after they were together for 10 years. For nearly over 3 years the cheating was continuously going on.

Zishu didn't reveal he had leukemia because he didn't want, one, Wenxu's pity, two, didn't want Wenxu to be forced back into their relationship just because he was sick ( since that would seem the love was not real and more like guilt tripping Wenxu), and three, he didn't want to be a burden.

Rather than Zishu, I question Wenxu. Just like how their friend asked, how could you say you love him when you didn't notice his weight loss and lack of appetite. How come there was no deep concern when Zishu had nosebleeds and was often feeling ill? How dare he become violent because of jealousy when he was the cheater?

There is no excuse for the rape of Zishu. A husband does not rape his wife. Rape is a violent crime to show dominance in the most humiliating way to the victim

I feel that even if Zishu had told him, the cheating would eventually return. Wenxu always made excuses for his actions. He hurt Zishu because he was jealous, he claims he didn't mean to ( insinuating that it was Zishu's fault). He had never apologized for his infidelity. Instead he reasoned it was a necessary evil in his job.

However, receiving pity & compassion from one's lover is needed!
It's humanly normal to show vulnerability & weakness to your partner and require their sympathetic attention.. not only that, but you'd also avoid many troubles!! As I said, the rape and the harsh attitude could easily be avoided simply if Wenxu knew of Zishu's crucial health condition. The cheating may continue (since Zishu is no longer available to satisfy the sexually-frustrated Wenxu) but the suffering would be far less.. I guess!

I was with my first partner 10 years and the only thing I cheated on him with was yaoi manga... Don't say its ubrealistic he cheated one and I left I never once notnonce every looked at another guy.

Like i mentioned, Zishu's personality would not allow him to. Why? Because Wenxu already started with his cheating - and not recently. It had already been several years. A little over 3 years (Zishu had mentioned that they had been together for nearly 4 years). Not everyone would have stayed as long as Zishu had. Most would have broken up with their lover/spouse.

Zishu had wanted Wenxu to reaffirm his vow several times in the past. Calling him about eating dumplings during New Year - like they always did in the past when he was still loyal. Wenxu, an idiot and ass as he is only sent dumplings. He didn't care about the significant of them sharing it on New Year. He contacted Wenxu telling him he was lonely, he did not feel well - and Wenxu only brushed him off saying "rest", "eat well"., like even any friend would.

Perhaps the rape could have been avoided, but cheating would still continue - even if Zishu was still alive (it isn't really cheating if your lover or spouse is dead, more like moving on). Why do I believe this? Wenxu never bothered to apologize, even after it was revealed that he was cheating. And cheated not just once or twice - his excuse was, it was part of the job. And this pained Zishu more than the pain he was enduring while in chemotherapy - in my opinion it was Wenxu's betrayal that caused him to give up on life. Because all Zishu had to hold on to was their love and Wenxu's promise that he would be the only one that he would love and cherish.

I know some people who read the novel said the seme is the one who stole the bone marrow’s match. But that didnt happen in the manga version, he only congratulated the mayor’s son or something like that. Or did i just miss the part?

Also, i think the uke didn’t tell the seme at first because it wasn’t serious (we dont know when it started nor when the uke learned it was serious)
And probably by the time the disease got serious, the uke lost hope.
Being in a relationship the way he was, it felt like sex friends with pushy seme (the seme never made time for the uke, and always spent time with others).
So he didn’t feel the need to let the seme know about the disease. It’s as if they broke up, would you go to your ex(you still love him) to tell him you have a disease that will most likely kill you? I would not, thats asking for pity rather than asking for love.

I agree that everything would have been better if uke told the seme, actually if uke stood his ground and told the seme to stop cheating, seme would probably have stoppeD.

The uke should have either left the seme or make the seme stop the cheating, but losing the seme wasn’t an option for him so he kept quiet, and telling the seme about the disease was also a risk of losing him, so he kept quiet about that too.

I know people who are married and who live happily for years. There are men and women who cheat but everyone is not like that. If a person is in a relationship then they shouldnt cheat. If cheating occurs that means you are no longer in love with the partner. Then rather than being in cheating relationship its better to seperate. Oh and scum who cheat will always cheat. Cherishing the one you love and having sex with another. Its not a good thing. You can have sex if you are not in love but if you have a partner one shouldnt do it. Just think how the other person will feel. Its better to seperate then.

I personally wouldn’t have sex with other people if i was in a relationship, and yes i agree cheating means you no longer love the other one. BUT if one wants to have sex with others, and talk about it to his lover, and lover agrees, it doesnt mean he no longer loves his lover.

As long as you do not betray your lover, i think it’s fine. (Even though i wouldn’t allow my lover to do that or do it myself)
