The system is trying to tell her she can be rewarded for saving people's lives with the golden dragon's fang. She's not comforted at all by this and screams out why should she save other's lives. She's already dead but brought to this place and now has no place to return to. The system choice box fades and instead she's greeted by a video of herself attached to an oxygen respirator inside a hospital room. Sitting next to her bedside holding her hand is her second brother who asks how long is she going to sleep for. He tells her they're all wrong and begs her for forgiveness so will she please wake up and he puts her hand against his forehead like he was praying. The first brother then enters the room and once asked by the second brother, tells him that their father left for the United States first thing that morning as there's a doctor there who has been successful several times in removing tumors from a comatose patient and who may be able to move soon (come there soon?). Silence again fills the room. The second brother still didn't let go of her hand. He swears announcing she's the way she is right now due to gastric cancer and overworking. He then uses his free hand to touch her forehead. Penelope is shocked by the revelation. The second brother says he regrets it and wonders why he did such stupid things when he was in school. The first brother tells him that neither he nor him nor their father learned. The second brother tells him that no one told him to do it but he should have known once she left to go to university alone. The first brother admits he thought she would have asked their father to send her abroad to study as that what archaeologist students normally do. The second brother laughs asking whether he seen their father's face when she asked for independence. Their father had been planning to gift her studying abroad as a present for her admission (i.e. he was planning to pay for her to study abroad to congratulate her on her admission into university). A deathly silence again filled the room. The second brother blames himself for her having gastric cancer. He thought if she couldn't eat like a rat at night she would join them to have dinner together on time. So he... The first brother immediately understood what he meant. He admits that he thought she'd come home quickly if he gave her that run down apartment but how was he to know she would take up several part time jobs. Penelope thinks that they didn't understand anything. Of how desperate she lived so she wouldn't have to go back to that house or open her hands to her father. The second brother whispered in a wet voice that he wished he could give her his stomach with her hand pressed against his forehead. Penelope thinks it's abominable and was about to swear when the screen changes to her father. Their father who left first thing to go to the United States is holding onto a westerner begging him to help him as tears fall from his bloodshot eyes. The video screen then disappears.”
I'm impressed how a family can have so little common sense. Instead of playing pranks with the food, put notes on all the food there asking her to have a meal with the family if you don't have the courage to talk to her in person. If you want her to come back, ask her. Apologise and try to makes amends. Not rocket science.

Okay I was sobbing after the update but now I'm SOBBING EVEN HARDER
