Feels like she just genuinely wants to make a better life for herself and it's not unreasonable given she was a slave. I don't agree with her being a mistress, but feels like that's more the Emperor's fault than Rasha's.
Maybe it's just been a while since I've read this but I feel sorry for this woman who got chucked into a very judgemental place with pretty much no one supporting her.
Agreed. People here like to look over the fact that Rashta was a SLAVE and both the Emperor and Empress are totally cool with people enslaving and torturing people based on what their great grandfather did. I don't like the empress for that reason.
INB4 "but but it was historically accurate for there to be slaves in the olden times" well it was also common for the Emperor to have a concubine and treat the Empress like shit since men were treated as above women, yet I see y'all complaining about it every chapter
Unpopular opinion but I really like how Emel left, made a name for himself, then came back. Sure, he probably could've communicated his intentions a lot better to Estelle but I'm glad he left but there's nothing wrong with trying to improve your standing. In fact, it's admirable that he wanted to be seen as equals with Estelle rather than passively accepting his role as just a knight.

I feel like everything would just be solved if she could be the emperor instead of empress. Like have the current emperor be a nobleman/somewhere down the hierachy where he doesn't have his responsibilities but can have as many concubines he wants and just give the monarchy to Navier. As much as I appreciate Heinley it bugs me that Navier has to rely on marrying out to escape her current predicament:(
