this story and mostly rubys character was based on the the real life lucrezia borgia, there are so many parallels between her and ruby. Lucrezia also had an horrible abusive incestrous brother. And only lucrezias husband truly loved and understood her since she was merely a pawn. Idk it makes the story more compelling and horrifying
I'm so happy to see someone also knows about the Borgia family and is a history nerd like me (also i watched the show). It was very obvious from the priest to the fact that ruby was married off all the time just for political gain. And the alleged inc*st plotline.
it makes me sad to see ruby being pulled around and abuse so balantly and it gets ignored or twisted into something devious when its not
