Oyasumi Punpun
Fragments of the journal entries that came to fruition upon reading:
I think girls and boys, as well as girlhood and boyhood have something more in common. I never considered that. It never crossed my mind until now that maybe our similarities and differences isn't about gender but about humans.
Im looking back to when I started to take the whole idea of the story as this portrayal of an all consuming love. This invisible force of nature, this bond. I'm reminded of a blackhole—relentless, merciless, and unyielding. I remember how astronomers described what happens when a human enters a blackhole. To love is to be human, to surrender to the ineffable and to be forever changed.
