Because if it did, you would probably know that everything we know/do as a society was reinforced again and again, that's why it became "common, natural". So stories that show rape without dealing with it as the crime it is, is just a disservice to us as a community.

Unless the author has rape case history then this story is disturbing. But if rape is necessary in the story then its fine? Don't mix reality with fiction. Some people can define right and wrong.
