Genuine answer, I like reading it for the same reason people watch serial killer documentaries that tell you all the gory details. It's also like a completely outlandish yet hyper realistic depiction of horror in a way a lot of people are scared to touch or explore with media - and it's almost like it's so extreme and over the top, you read it for morbid curiosity to see just how much worse the abuse and torture can get, and how other people are very capable of doing that. The porn side is simply another aspect of horror that people can and will do that to you if there's the right motivation and incentive. It's stark, and very possible - like home invasion horror. Just a more intimate one that arguably is a lot worse.

That's why I read it at least. I'm not aroused by it.

I can totally understand this viewpoint. It's like watching a gory scene. It's viceral and grotesque but you just can't seem to look away - a mix of fear and curiosity, disgust and intrigue.

When they just use it for drama, it makes their characters seem one-dimensional and stupid.

I get it. Maybe bc it's short. I expected we'd have more slow burn type of thing. Honestly it felt like a summary. I mean, they didn't even show their texts over those 5 years, i thought for a sec in the beginning that they would meet up after one tweet reply. The author really seems to summarize events that why it feels rushed
